Great Book I Just Finished Reading
I want to recommend a really good book to you all. It's called "The Kitchen House" by Kathleen Grissom. Unbelievably, it's her first novel. It takes place in the late 1700s, on a plantation. The story is told through the eyes of two narrators: One, a slave born on the plantation, and the other, a young Irish girl who comes to live there as an indentured servant. The writing style is wonderful and the story is so compelling you can't put it down. I really enjoyed it. Felt like I was there and knew the characters.
This book is historical fiction, well researched by the author. |
Reading is my second favorite thing to do...My problem is I have to finish it and am known to stay up till 3am even if I have to get up at 7am. I will look for that book, it sounds great.

I love Emilie Richard's Quilting Stories. Wedding Ring, Endless Chain, Lover's Knot. Will pick up your book, sounds very interesting.

another book about the deep south you might like is Sue Monk Kidd's "The Invention of Wings." Very engrossing and based on truth. A compelling read as well

Love historical novels. I'm reading The Tea Rose by Jennifer Donnelly. Really good. Thanks for the new one.

Sounds good. I just added it to my wish list for my kindle. It will have to wait for the price to come down a little before I get it.
I just finished "Gone Girl." It had a few twists and the ending was something I would never have guessed. |
I read this book several years ago and it was quite good.
