Ok folks, let's dish the dirt on quilting and non-quilting guilty pleasures: 1) my fabric stash 2) hanging out in my robe for 2 hours on a weekend a.m. 3) reading tacky romance novels 4) sitting on my front porch watching the sun go down with either a mug of tea, glass of wine, my hubby and dog Stitches keeping me company 5) sleeping in 6) watching Food Network or HGT for hours and 7) checking out QB when I should be working

Checking out QB to long, Buying to much fabric and crafting things. To many books. Eating to much chocolate.

QuiltnNan 10-21-2011 09:02 AM

on QB too long and my stash

SouthPStitches 10-21-2011 09:02 AM

How could I have forgotten chocolate or sweets in general? Managed to snarf down two bags of candy corn alone this week.

ptquilts 10-21-2011 09:06 AM

homemade apple crisp, WARM!!! mmmm

Sunnie 10-21-2011 09:07 AM

Too much time on the computer at QB or Facebook, my growing stash, and a glass or two of wine.

valsma 10-21-2011 09:07 AM

1)Eating chocolate in bed, 2) quilting and buying fabric for my stash, 3) singing and dancing around the house to music when nobody is home, 4) singing outloud to the radio in my truck while driving, and 5) watching Keeping Up With The Kardashians.
:-)

I'm not going to add spending to much time reading quiltboard because I don't feel the least bit guilty.

kateyb 10-21-2011 09:16 AM

I suppose I should feel guilty about these: dark chocolate, trashy romance novels for an entire weekend, hanging out in my pj's until the afternoon.
I don't feel guilty at all about these: my stash, my quilting books, and all the pretty embroidery thread for my embroidery machine.

doris.meek13088 10-21-2011 09:28 AM

Only teo hours in the robe?

Patty Patches 10-21-2011 09:29 AM

I refuse to feel guilty because I like to fondle fabric.he-he

knitnnan 10-21-2011 09:30 AM

chocolate, lots of chocolate

fayzer 10-21-2011 09:54 AM

My occasional margaritas. I have type 2 diabetes, so I can't have them often. I guess that is why they taste so good when I do drink one. That and I could spend hours in fabric stores. If only I had the money to buy all I want! I'd be buried in fabric!

sewgull 10-21-2011 10:22 AM

chocolate

Favorite Fabrics 10-21-2011 10:24 AM

Popcorn, made on the stove in an old pan... with melted butter. And salt!

In a BIG bowl.

On a rainy day. Like today!

carolaug 10-21-2011 10:25 AM

Ditto...

1. chocolate, chocolate & more chocolate, unfortunately I have a private stash of this in a cupboard & the GC found out where it was so had to move it.

2. French vanilla, low fat yogurt.

3. on the QB way tooooooooooo much.

4. buying fabric that I'll need for that rainy day.

:) :) :) :)

QuiltingKrazy 10-21-2011 11:06 AM

Besides the obvious... spending way to much time on here!
French Vanilla Cappuccinos (sp) YUM! any time of day/night,
spending an entire day in a fabric store - spending $$ or not,
watching lifetime movies by myself all day long! with a box of tissues! lol

mhansen6 10-21-2011 11:40 AM

Fabric! I buy way too much fabric. I was mad at my husband this morning and order over $250 in fabric from Hancocks of Paduch when I got to work. I showed him! Nothing like retail therapy.

quilter68 10-21-2011 11:45 AM

It is almost 4:00pm and I have just gotten dressed!

How could I forget chocolate!

Helovesme 10-21-2011 11:47 AM

Staying up late to watch "Whose Line is it Anyway?" and ice cream with whipped cream - lots of whipped cream!

melissa Dove 10-21-2011 12:10 PM

sneaking upstairs early on a friday, settling in bed with a good book ,a mug of a good hot drink (laced with something alcoholic) and the knowledge that no one will need me to do anything till lunchtime next day!

Juliebelle 10-21-2011 12:53 PM

Eating peanut butter with a spoon directly out of the jar, sitting on my screened porch with a glass of wine, watching trashy tv shows in bed.

chickadeee55 10-21-2011 01:04 PM

Having myself a PJ day and sewing all day. With no cares.

Peckish 10-21-2011 01:12 PM

I don't know that I'd call these "guilty pleasures" - it took me many, many years to realize that we need to nurture OURSELVES. All too often we make sure our family has everything they need before we think about our own needs, and we end up drained and cranky. So, with that in mind, here are my "self-nurturing guilty pleasures":

A foo-foo Starbucks drink and a pedicure every now and then
Quiet time all to myself
time spent with girlfriends - this one is really important!
a secret stash of Hershey's nuggets
NCIS marathons
Cranking up the wood stove to the point where I have to change into shorts - (I have to wait til DH is out of town for this one, hee hee)
something new from the health/beauty aids section - soap, body spray, hair clips, etc.
spending an hour in my LQS petting the new fabrics.

twixbar 10-21-2011 01:41 PM

Reading QB for a long time each day.

sherian 10-21-2011 01:46 PM

chocolate, of course, fabric, sewing & quilting book,
now a new one trying to reel me in. Toy metal or iron
sewing machines with pretty painting, flowers, etc.
My glass case needs to move on for these little beauties.
But money is calling to me you have a budget.

Lindsey 10-21-2011 01:47 PM

all my stash. I keep adding to it. and geez playing games on facebook.

i love all your "guilty pleasures". but, i don't feel guilty for even one of them anymore. i loved, raised and nurtured my children, i catered to a significant other for over 20 years 24/7(whether i wanted to or not). so now, a little me time is on the schedule. to many wasted emotions on guilt. i prefer to live it up.(or at least in the confines of my budget)!!

raedar63 10-21-2011 03:42 PM

No guilt here, I live each moment as they come!

mizkyp 10-21-2011 04:28 PM

an afternoon nap...

Greenheron 10-21-2011 04:36 PM

I wallow in pleasures--no guilt whatsoever.

deedum 10-21-2011 04:49 PM

1.staying up late, sleeping in late
2.coffee & chips ( doing now)
3.spending, spending on fabric (did today and loved it)
4.staying in my jammies til noon when I can (not often enough)
5. staying up til 3 a.m. sewing :)

All Good!

Moonglow 10-21-2011 04:51 PM

Guilty pleasures are good for the soul. That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it.

SuziC 10-21-2011 04:52 PM

I loved all the responses to this post. LOL I refuse to feel guilty about anything! I have earned my pleasures, excess fabric stash, choc stash, wine stash, and never take away my NCIS or HGTV!

Yessssss I agree! I have lived too long to be guilty about the things that make me happy and if I haven't sold the farm to finance my excesses then I am going for it~!

mamaw 10-21-2011 06:47 PM

My fabric stash, a nice cup of tea with a good book, and enjoying my porch on warm days.
Oh, can't forget my stash of chocolate at my computer desk lol.

Caswews 10-22-2011 03:33 AM

Joset 10-22-2011 04:06 AM
