Handbag pattern ideas?
 

Any suggestions for a purse/handbag pattern? I am mostly a beginner at the handbag thing, so I need something of medium complexity. I prefer rotary cut rectangles to dealing with a paper pattern, but I guess I am probably stuck with paper pattern. Also, Lots Of Pockets!

And once you do find a pattern you like, you may surprise yourself at how easy they are to 'cut a little different' here, 'add a little something' there, and you are creating your own purse/bag patterns. Most are easy to enlarge or reduce also.
I would like to add: When making anything from a pattern, it is best to read the patterns over before cutting any fabric. Read and re-read to make sure you understand the patterns to get the end result you are looking for. I have done several purse and bag patterns, and there was one that I found with errors and I even knew a much simpler way to make part of the pattern, which saved me a lot of time. This pattern I bought had the order of creating the bag a little mixed up and it was confusing. I did contact the designer of the bag with my thoughts. Possible some of you know which one I am talking about. (It is not a Bow Tuck) The bag did turn out great though and my DIL loves it.

I like the Mondo bag or the Midi bag but they are a little advanced but not difficult. The good bag to make in any size and it doesn't look like a tote is this one:

There are hundreds of freebies and check out blogs for tutorials.If you are looking to buy, the lazy girl patterns can't be beat for rotery cutting and simple instruction. Oh and lots of pockets. Once I learned the lazy girl way of making ppckets I adapt all patterns to make the ppckets like she teaches. Kaye England I think it is has vidieos of some of the lazy girl purses.

When making bags/purses do you quilt the material then cut out the pattern?
