I'm 52 & have been colouring my hair for the last 10 or 12 years - I have/had mid-brown hair & usually coloured this with permanent darker or auburn tones. anyway, over the past year or so have noticed that the regrowth was much more noticeable within a week or two of the colour so have changed the colour tones to blonded highlights & it looks much better. The grey hairs are masked, my 'new' hair colour suits my older skin tones & I dont have to think about regrowth. Plus I have reduced the frequency of my hair colours to maybe every 3 - 5 months instead of every 6 weeks to 2 mths.

I was very lucky, as I was a natural strawberry blond, and my hair did not go grey, it just got lighter and lighter. I have never coloured my hair at all

I also love the grey in my hair. I went through a very stressful and very very busy few years when my hair was first noticeably turning grey and I just couldn't find the time to maintain colouring on a regular basis. Then I realised that I was not the slave to hair appointments like my friends and work colleagues. Yeah....freedom....
Biggest compliment---started a new job and two older colleagues were surprised that I wasn't bothered about grey ----within 9 months neither were they! They donated the money that they saved for the next six months to a local charity. Don't know what they do with the extra free time but we are still cheerfully growing grey disgracefully.

I have decided to try going gray but don't know if I can hang in there. It's beginning to look like I have a bowl turned upside down on my head. LOL

I was letting mine go. I hated the look of the grey, but I don't care much for using the chemicals on my hair. Hubby hated the grey. I've since lost a lot of weight and decided to color it again. Now everyone says I look so much younger. I don't think I can stop coloring now! LOL

I have too much gray to blend, but I do the same.Use blonde hair coloring & it makes the gray sparkle. When that no longer works,I'll hope for pretty white hair.

I went gray and have beautiful short salt and pepper hair and love not having to pay out so much money for coloring and the thought of all those harmfull dyes is not good for the brain....Just some advice on the hair color for those that still do .Stay lite, too many still think they can go dark.

I tried dyeing my hair at an early age - late teens. After burning my scalp, I decided no more. My hair color is my natural, some gray is starting to come in, not a big deal. I don't wear makeup, love the natural look instead.
In the end it's who you are inside as a person, not what you look like that matters most.
Over time, looks fade, your inside is the real you.

What my hair stylist suggested was to use a cap and streak lightly with the darkest color still in my natural color. Three to four months later she would frost it lightly. Then the dark again. Haven't bothered lately. My mother's hair is a beautiful sparkling snow white - I keep hoping for that.

I have 3 gray hairs in my bangs I noticed one day after a shower. I named them "Denny, Derek & Landon" after my 3 boys in my life! And they were all 3 right there side by side.......
