Yip, ham or CB. One time my TV picked up the road crew that was working on the road about 2 blocks away. It IS eerie at first!!!!

Ditto! We have had that happen to us sometimes.

It could be a neighbor who has a cb in their vehicle/semi, and I forget what they call the "booster" but when it is engaged, they can come through your speakers.
They can be a ways away and still come through, so it can be hard to tell who it is :D:D:D

The speakers on my old computer would pick up DH's CB when he was sitting in the driveway. After he realized I could hear his conversations, he'd pull up in the driveway, loudly say "Honey, I'm home!" and scare the BLEEP out of me! LOL!

The speakers on my new laptop don't do it, though. Not sure why.

My DH is a ham operator and it could be that. Ham operators should have filters on their equipment to avoid this problem. Most new ones now have them built in. I don't know about CBers. However, we have a walkie-talkie set up and every now and then it blurts out but it is not coming from the radios. My DH has four antennas set up and never had a complaint. Aside from that, when I first moved in my home, after we had gone to bed, I could hear music (very softly) playing. I would get up, check everything, and finally figured it out. It was coming out of the faucet in the half-bath! Radio transmissions can do weird things. A relative that lived in Torrance CA back in the 60's could pick up the station KOMA here in OKC. Now that is a hugh bounce.

That would be weird....at one time when I picked up the phone, in addition to a dial tone..I could hear my neighbor's talking on their phone. Sometimes interesting...but then I realized that if I could hear them...they could hear me..didn't like that at all!

It's called a skip. My old house portable phone use to do it. You had to change the channels.
