Hi Mom-6, we're making those balls for Toys for Tots. When you go to put the sections together, lay out 4 pieces so that they make a complete circle - you'll have 3 circles of 4 sections each. Sew the tips of the 4"orange sections" together forming a circle. Do this to all three sections. This next part is hard to explain, but you fiddle with the 3 sections until you get them to go together forming the ball. I hope this helps a little.

We've made them in flannel for babies, and in denim for the older kids. Once you get the hang of it, they're not difficult.

I printed out the pattern piece that they provide and I believe I used the narrow width of the pattern piece. If I get on my laptop tomorrow, I will look to see if I have a picture of it. I made it a couple of years ago. This pattern calls for dental floss to tie the sections together. I used embroidery floss instead.
