Help finding pattern for shaped toy

I've seen pictures of a shaped toy for babies that they can grip easily. It is sort of like a ball with all different color "handles" sticking out.

Does anyone know what this is called so I can do a search for a pattern?

You ladies are always so knowledgable on how to find things!

Thanks in advance.

http://images.search.yahoo.com/image...Y&fr=yfp-t-900 well this isn't a pattern but it's a stuffed ball with "tags". hexagons usually.

You are looking for a "grab ball". I have one saved on my laptop but alas, I am using my iPad! Let me see if I can find the one I used.

That's really cute - looks like it should be easy to do as well. Probably much quicker and easier than the one I saw!

The one I'm thinking of was much more dimensional. It looked like a series of maybe sort of D shaped stuffed units held together in the middle somehow. Each grabbing spot was individually stuffed. And then there was space for little fingers around each one, disappearing into the middle.

Ok I just found it on about.com. It is called a grab ball. And is twelve stuffed sections each composed of three elongated ovals. The instructions for final assembly of the sections wasn't as clear as I would like though.

Thanks auntpiggylpn! Looks like we both found it about the same time. If I run into difficulty now I know who to bug about it. Lol!

How big did you make your sections?

I printed out the pattern piece that they provide and I believe I used the narrow width of the pattern piece. If I get on my laptop tomorrow, I will look to see if I have a picture of it. I made it a couple of years ago. This pattern calls for dental floss to tie the sections together. I used embroidery floss instead.
