He's Home!!!

So thankful that my air force son is home after 3 years in Italy, Iraq and Afghanistan. I've never been so happy to drive to the airport in my life--broken wrist, broken ankle and all!

thats is great. what a wonderful gift. tell him thanks . and have a wonderful
holiday.

Ginaky 12-01-2012 09:52 AM

I sure understand that! My son got home 2 weeks ago from a year in Korea. He has done 2 tours in Iraq, and 4 years in Germany, so this one wasn't so scarey, but it was great to get him home in time for Thanksgiving, his daughter's 3rd birthday next Saturday and Christmas. Sadly, they are then moving to Virginia--about 9 hours from us, instead of the 2 1/2 they are now at Ft. Knox. Oh well, I know how to get where they are taking my only grandchild--as many times as I can and still work full time.

I'm very glad you son is home safely and in time for the holidays. Maybe all this will end soon and our children (that's what they are, no matter how old they get!) won't have to go to those places again!

barny 12-01-2012 12:28 PM

Tell your Son "thanks for guarding our country" for us. He has had a lot to do to keep us all safe. Have a good visit.

Grandma Peg 12-01-2012 12:59 PM

Cograts to have your son home So glad he is home. Hopefully no more deployments.

EllieGirl 12-01-2012 02:53 PM

I know completely how you feel! My daughter deployed to Iraq. Fortunately, as a critical care nurse, other than Iraq he duty station was Walter Reed. When she called me from Kuwait to say she was out of Iraq I felt such a weight off my shoulders.

Jingle 12-01-2012 03:48 PM

Our oldest Grandson was here for Thanksgiving. He had to report back today at Midnight. He is in the Army and with The Old Guard in D.C. He does ceremonies at the White House and Pentagon. He has served two tours in Iraq. We are just glad he is Stateside.

Thank your Son for serving our wonderful country. Enjoy !!!

decky 12-01-2012 04:38 PM

Isn't it great to have them back home safe and sound? My son was in Germany for 2 years and was suppose to be home for Christmas. He ended up staying another year after things started getting hot in the middle east.

I'm glad to hear he's home. Mine came back from the Navy this past April. After he came back, we found out his first 1 1/2 years were spent in Iraq. The last 3 years were in Spain. He is now enrolled in college and going into sports medicine as a therapist. It will take a few years, but he's ready.

So glad He is home safe for Christmas, and other events. we tend to put to much in doing the big planning and celabrating the holidays when the simple things like family together can bring so much joy. Give him a big hug and thanks for serving our country from me. I have a GD in the Airforce that won't be home, so I'll just be so happy for you and yours.
