It amazes me that shows like this are on TV. Whose reality is this, certainly not mine or anyone I know. If these types of shows represent the average American, I want to know where they all live, because it's not where anyone I know lives. What a sad reflection of values, or lack thereof and what an injustice to this kid. Along withToddlers and Tiaras, Swamp People, and Hoarders, etc., it's just pure exploitation and as long as people watch it, it will go on. Are you that bored? Ugh!!

This show makes me so sad. TLC should be ashamed of themselves for tossing $ at this family to make fools of themselves. It doesn't seem to matter to them (the family) that people are laughing at their ignorance, lack of education, & bad manners. Makes me sick to see them on talk shows & how the mother laughs at the child's obnoxious behavior.

I didn't think TLC could reach lower than how they handled "Jon and Kate Plus Eight" but they have succeeded in exploiting these people. I can't believe people find this entertaining.

What's going to happen to Boo boo (Alana) in a cpl. of yrs. when the cuteness wears off & she's left with nothing. I guess people will do anything for money.

All a bit sad and pathetic really. Poor little soul hasn't got a hope in Hades of getting out of the same rut her parents are stuck in. Not keen on the idea of underage beauty pageants....smacks of "mothers with unresolved issues" and quite frankly is fodder for some of the sickest members of our society. Must admit, I watch the odd reality show....love Pickers, Swamp People....and the like. Have always enjoyed the quirks and differences amongst people. Be assured America....the rest of us don't judge you on these "reality" shows:)

Jan in Va, thank you for the link, and thank you for caring enough to tell us. I am constantly amazed at how many of us do not care or do not believe. I live in a foreign country from the one I was born in and I have never moved! It's very sad.

It's good to see that I'm not alone in my bad feelings about Honey BooBoo. It's a crying shame!! Wonder how many other parents and kids out there think they can get a reality show by acting like inconsiderate, rude, fools?

Hmmmm, I'm going to have to correct my friend who is involved in promoting some talented children!! He told me what the salary was as the "producers" were debating on a second season!!

Ok, Ok, I may have to change my screen name to "You Don't Know me"!!! I do watch Toddlers & Tiaras since it began. And to add to my downfall, I was at one of their tapings. The last season finale was taped about 10 minutes from me but I didn't go. Lots of friends did. To explain (or excuse myself LOL), I am a pageant auditor and a pageant judge. Have been for over 15 years. A good friend's daughter was highlighted on one of the shows and they filmed here in my area for the home views. Now, these people are very nice, upstanding people and the child is well rounded, from doing pageants, to cheer, to softball, to hunting with her dad and big brother!! Good student in school and is in church every Sunday...An all around good kid. Her mom did watch the filming closely and when they tried to "stage" a "drama", it didn't happen!! The producers have raised the bar somewhat and are doing better research on the pageant directors. T&T is currently scouting for contestants in our state right now. Oh, and one of the very first contestants they followed is now staring in the remake of The Little Rascals so it does pay off if the parents are discrete. So most of the kids are NOT like HBB but there are a few who will do anything to get their child recognized.

Sorry for my long discourse, just wanted to "explain myself". LOL

I don't think the stupid people realize that the viewers are laughing at them, not with them, as they seem to think. When did being stupid, obnoxious and fat make you a "star"? It glorifies what is wrong with our society. No morals, no manners, no respect, no brains, and the list goes on. I just hope people don't think all people from Georgia are like that. I can assure you that we are not!

If we, the viewing public turn these types of programs OFF then perhaps the "powers that be" will finally smarten up & get some decent shows. Who & what made the Kardashians stars? I would like to know exactly what their claim to fame is - does anyone really know? OMG tv is becoming shameful !! Reality - you have to be kidding !!!
