cathyvv 12-24-2010 07:25 PM

What a nice thought. Luckily, I have family with me tonight. Hope you do, too. Happy Holidays!

ssnare 12-24-2010 07:26 PM

Merry Christmas to you, too. Hugs.

suezquilts 12-24-2010 07:29 PM

Just had the crowd leave, only one daughter and 2 granddaughters here, they just got out of the hottub and now are eating Ice cream... I'm hiding in my room with my feet up, watching a kid's Christmas movie, waiting for them to come in and join me, one just came in... waiting for the next one.
Love family get togethers.... Our 85 yr old neighbor came for the day, I think he has more noise at our house in one afternoon, than a year on his own.
Merry Christmas.

I am working. By myself, unless of course I get a call. Went to Church with family and then to grandmothers for gift exchange. Now at work. Someone has to do it.

Hope everyone has a Happy Holiday.

leonajo 12-24-2010 08:33 PM

I don't mind it so much this year, like Stewyscrewy said, we have a home, friends, people that share and care about the same things. This Board is a wonderful place :) We have plans. Plans r a wonderful thing. When u have a plan, u can do anything.

Lostn51 12-24-2010 08:57 PM

Well I am lucky to have my wife, son and my FIL here right now and my daughter and her pupper is supposed to be here soon. We are doing the final things to get ready for the fat guy and its to bed.

But for now I am going to go hop in the shower and throw on my new "A Christmas Story" PJ's and sit and enjoy a round of the movie that my PJ's celebrate. Then I can hit the sack. ;)

I really do think of you guys as my extended family and I hope that everyone here has a wonderful Christmas!!

Billy

Merry Christmas from me and my DH. We're cruising the web while watching Christmas Vacation on TV - a Christmas Eve tradition for us!

frugalfabrics 12-24-2010 09:06 PM

I watched Christmas Vacation last night...it's one of my annual traditions too...can't get enough of Eddie!

C.Cal Quilt Girl 12-24-2010 09:11 PM

Just checkin in on all, the goodies are baked the remainder for the potluck to do fresh in the morning, then it's relatives for the remainder of the day!! Little loud and a bunch of silly....
Merry Christmas, and/or any other Holiday, Expressing good thoughts that applies to you all for the following year !! :)

twospoiledhuskies 12-24-2010 09:43 PM

Thank you for posting such a nice note. I am not alone exactly (the only one still awake). Sort of feels like I'm alone. It is bummer that we could not afford to go home to CA to be with all of our family. I am sitting here watching TV with all my furbabies (some of them are sleeping as well-hee hee) thinking how there are many more people who are less fortunate than I am.

I wish you and your family a wonderful holiday :-D

Has Molly heard Santa arrive yet?
Merry Christmas to all on this board -- I like the idea of thinking we are a family, and look forward to meeting one of us on my trip to Montana next month!

Your Molly reminds me of a children's book I have titled The Poodle Who Barked At the Wind. :D It's a cute story!! Merry Christmas to you and to Molly!

Thanks for thinking of us Single Folk.....I was fine till I read your post. Brought a few tears but I'm ok. Had Christmas w/ one Daughter a couple of weeks ago. I'm missing my other Daughter and 2 grandsons in Virginia. I'm off to bed, hoping to chat with my kids tomorrow. Blessings.

frugalfabrics 12-24-2010 10:02 PM

Well, I guess I will turn in...I need my beauty sleep. Sweet dreams all and I hope Santa is good to you all.

I'll be back to hang out with my friends tomorrow.

Merry Christmas - Barb

Merry Christmas to all. Just left my Mom's after attending the candlelight service. Enjoyed dinner at Hyden's (seafood) first and then spent some time with Mom praying since it is the first Christmas without my Dad (he passed Sept. 19). Praise God he is in the safe and loving arms of our Lord and Savior. I feel his presence, and miss him dearly, but know he is in a better place. Thank you for listening and keep us in your prayers. Cherie

BETTY62 12-24-2010 10:15 PM

Merry Christmas to all of you. I just joined the family a few months back and you all have made me feel so welcome on this board. I love how everyone is so friendly, caring and helpful to others. Merry Christmas to each of you and may God Bless you and your families.

Gramof6 12-24-2010 11:20 PM

Merry Christmas to all of you. I also think of this group as family, even though I am not on here quite as much as I would like to be. LOL I do nto mind being alone on Christmas Day as I have had to be sev times if DH was out on a job. Oilfield.Ugh! We always have our kids & grands over on the 22nd & then those that can go to my parents on the 24th for dinner & gifts @ 6pm. Mom is a stickler about the 6 pm thing. LOL So on Christmas Day DH & I just hang out or go to a movie. If he is gone, I sew or handquilt. Which is a good way to spend any day. I am just happy that I can always come here or I can sew to pass the time away. Thank You All for that. {{{{{HUGS}}}}}

Merry Christmas everyone.. Just finished the last of the cookies I was wanting to make.. Just Me, Dh and my lil one for Christmas this year.. We spent last weekend with my parents for our yearly family Xmas gathering. We started doing this years ago so all my sibling could spend the holiday with their in-laws, unfortunately my MIL passed away not to long ago and FIL currently in nursing home.

Happy Birthday Jesus..

pookie ookie 12-24-2010 11:35 PM

Merry Christmas! My man is on a post 3,000 miles away. He said it's like walking through The Shining. Empty and cold. I got to wish him a Merry Christmas in his time zone and that was nice. My grandmother never had that luxury. His next Christmas will be in Afghanistan. I hope everyone has a good time wherever you are.

nursie76 12-24-2010 11:37 PM

Merry Christmas to all! It is nice that we can be an extended family for each other. Just DH and I and the fur babies tonight. Went to Christmas Eve services (I play the organ), then home to finish up some gifts, wrap presents and bake pies for tomorrow. Sharing the afternoon with our oldest DD and only DGS. Youngest DD is in France (she has been living in NZ), and won't see our DS until next weekend. Seems odd not having the kids waking us up at 5AM to see what Santa brought! LOL

Well, it is off to bed for me, can't seem to settle tonight, but DH and the dog don't seem to have that problem...they are both snoring! lol

Sweet dreams!

wanna be quilter 12-25-2010 12:00 AM

Just my hubby and two little furbabies here tonight, but going to youngest son and DIL for dinner tomorrow, with their 3 beautiful adopted little children, we are truly blessed this year to have the g.children finally home in our family for Christmas, it is just a magical time for all of us, God is Good !!

Happy Christmas to everyone, and a peaceful New Year, thinking of those on their own, and pray you won't find the day too long and lonely, come to the board and join in the conversations. There's always something here for everyone, and wonderful friends to talk to. God Bless have a great day celebrating Jesus birthday !!

loopywren 12-25-2010 12:52 AM

I am alone with my dog, Poppy, its okay though, the lovely people on this board take the loneliness away, not just now but every day. Thank you everyone.

Kyiav10 12-25-2010 01:02 AM

Hello Marye. I am doing better. Some days still seem unreal for me that he actually isn't there. But I am getting better. I did write the letter. I have it with the sympathy cards that friends and family sent to us under his urn. We also have a framed picture that sits on his urn, which is a wooden box.

Thank you for checking in on me!

Kyia
