I love halloween & halloween flicks....i prefer the kind that feels like I could be real, but nightmare on elm street will do, as well!!!

I too avoid most of the heavy Halloween stuff.

WHen my kids' father got sick I stopped watching soap operas. (Had enough drama in my life without that stuff). As he got sicker I struck off the list all the hospital shows and forensic shows. When he died I gave up on Survivor and the Greatest Race type reality shows... they call that real life? And since then (8 years now) I have stuck to 1/2 hr comedies and game shows. As my children have healed it has been easier to watch TV again, but I really don't miss that stuff. It just hurt my mind. (Had a student in school who used that expression whenever I asked him to try and do his work... It just hurts my mind.

Years back I was in a terribly abusive marriage and I couldn't watch those "burning bed" abused women type shows...just couldn't do it ! However, once I healed I go out of my way to watch them !

I love this time of year with all the "weird" shows on tv. For some reason I just don't like NCIS. I know..everyone I talk to loves it. I do like NCIS...LA...but not the other one.

I would have loved to watch anything this weekend. We were in that freak snowstorm. We got a foot of snow and lost power Saturday night. No estimate yet when we'll get it back.

I don't have cable and can not get any stations without it so.... I miss all of the Halloween programing on TV. If I want to see Charlie Brown and the Great Pumpkin... I watch it on DVD. I also have an old Garfield Special that I like to.... I can hear that striped feline saying, "candy, candy, candy!"

I do not enjoy the Halloween season at all. I guess I just know too much of the history of the celebration even though we have Americanized it. I don't want to take part in it. I am always glad when it is over and we can move on to Thanksgiving.

I am not an old curmudgeon. I do meet children at the door with treats but I don't dress my hours in witches, grave stones and spider webs. Just me and my choice.

Bleeeeech! and raspberries to any "holiday" programming. I watched the entire first season of "Upstairs, Downstairs" this weekend (and two episodes of NCIS).

I love Halloween and Christmas but I cannot stand the commercialization and the glut of so-called seasonal shows. I have Netflix hooked to the TV ('thank you' techie son) and can watch old or foreign movies or classic television. Phew!

I watch a lot of PBS, History of the Dead, Or FBI Files or Nature shows. Current TV with a few exceptions bores me.
