On this board. I can't seem to stay off today. I am cooking for a funeral and in between waiting for food to get done or cool I am on this board.

wolfkitty 09-26-2010 10:38 AM

I came home from church, had a quick sandwich, and got on the board, But I have to start getting ready for an upcoming trip on Thursday to meet my grandson-to-be. I hope he has arrived my Thurs.

sally's girl 09-26-2010 10:40 AM

As for every Sun. Going to church to worship GOD is the upmost importance.... This morning I had 2 grandsons ages 11 and 13 who spent the night...keep pushing them to eat, brush teeth, shower, pack overnite bag etc.. but love every minute of the time I have with them... Got text from hubby who left for work at 6:30 am, quote "can't believe I forgot my lower teeth..PLEASE drop them off" lol...great beginning to a blessed Sun.

Bluelady 09-26-2010 10:40 AM

Just starting to wake up and move around. I made it to Starbucks and that's about it so far! Oh and of course, Facebook and this board! and it has all been done in my pajamas!

sidmona 09-26-2010 10:47 AM

Went to church, took care of the dogs then worked on my jack-o-lantern quilt top.

wvdek 09-26-2010 10:48 AM

Spent the morning in wonderful worship with fellow believers... getting ready now to start, gulp, actually quilting... my first time to quilt anything... I've followed the advice of several of you, which I deeply appreciate and, well, here I go! I will try to figure out how to post a picture when it's completed...
Happy Quilting!!!

tolepainter54 09-26-2010 11:04 AM

Great - go for it! We all started in the same place. I am in awe of the work I see on this board. It is all beautiful and I appreciate the work that goes into it. Most of all "Have fun"

Olivia's Grammy 09-26-2010 11:11 AM

Started off to a good start this morning. Sunday School, I help in the 2 & 3 yo, then church. Back to church this evening for a SS meeting. It's in between that I'm having trouble with. I'm done cooking and cleaning up the kitchen. I need to run to the grocery store, but it's raining and I might melt.  So here I am again at my favorite site.

Scissor Queen 09-26-2010 11:13 AM

I'm watching the race and when it's over I'm going to the grocery store and get hamburger and buns and grill some burgers for supper. I have a while to go, the race is just barely halfway.

Olivia's Grammy 09-26-2010 11:14 AM

DH is watching the race too. I usually read when he watches the race, but hey this is reading isn't it?

Ramona Byrd 09-26-2010 11:15 AM

Did I read this right? You went to Starbucks in your jammies?

Oh, neat, I would love to be able to do that, except that my old fashioned granny gown with its cat clawed parts would be looked down on. Does Starbucks have a drive through?

Melinda in Tulsa 09-26-2010 11:21 AM

Lynnejean and I made a mad dash for Joanns this morning so we would be there when the doors opened! Today only, they are having a sale on Warm & Natural Queen size cotton batting for $9.99 a package. I got 4 and she got 6. For once my membership with Quilters Club of America really paid off, as I got a 10% discount so the batting ended up being $8.99 a package. After I paid, I just handed my card to Lynnejean and she used it for the discount too! What a day, wish I could have bought even more.

aurora41 09-26-2010 11:24 AM

I just got back from Church, and because finally in San Francisco we are having some nice weather "Indian Summer" I changed into a short and T-shirt and to the computer to see the new items in this board.

Terryl 09-26-2010 11:29 AM

Spending it quilting with DD, the best way to spend my BD :)
of course checking in here periodically

Barbm 09-26-2010 11:32 AM

got 2 loads of wash on the line, 1 more in washer, downloaded pics of the wall hanging I am working on, then went to church, came home, downloaded pics of the 125th celebration, went to grocery store. put away groceries and came here. Realized I need to get the rugs from the washer on the line and bring in what is dry.

then- there's apples and tomatoes and green peppers from the garden to deal with. thinking apple pie, make some sauce and freeze the peppers.

Which means I need to get my butt off the computer. Certainly not enough time in the day for me.

Shelbie 09-26-2010 11:33 AM

I spent the morning at church and we were longer than usual as it was Anniversary Sunday and we had extra special music and lunch. Then it was home to walk the dog, make some muffins, fold laundry for DD to take back to college and proof read her essay. Now it's time for tea while I check this board before heading out to help DD get some groceries for the week and then drive her 100km back to college. Once I get back, I hope to make DH some supper (he's out planting winter wheat) and put a few more stitches in my big purple quilt that I need to finish for our guild show in October.

gollytwo 09-26-2010 11:54 AM

Watching political talking heads all morning - tivoed, then baseball in the afternoon

littleone 09-26-2010 11:56 AM

Reading everyones links it sounds like we are all having an awesome day. Hubby was to be golfing today so did the Sat. evening service. Music and sermon were so God inspired. Hubby; didn't go golf due to weather so he is surfing channels between football, golf and race. I have been busy making peach jam, roasted a turkey breast for salads and lunches this week, have a roast pork ready for tonights dinner, and will run off to WM they have grade A turkeys on for 95 cents a pound, for here that is cheap. Hope to get down to sewing room after dinner to continue on SIL's quilt for Christmas.

gmaybee 09-26-2010 11:59 AM

Went to church, fixed breakfast for lunch, cleaned the living room, caught the check book up, checking out the board, and plan to do a little sewing.

Dix 09-26-2010 12:37 PM

As always, on Sunday we went to church, then to lunch with friends. Then to see a friend who fell and broke rt. shoulder and rt. leg and is not doing well. Dh is on his computer working on stamp collecting and I am playing on my laptop. Friends just called and wanted us to meet them for grilled onion hamburgers this evening in the little town about 30 minutes away. So of course, we said yes!

jacee kay 09-26-2010 12:41 PM

We went to S.S. and Church and came home and had ham and beans and cornbread for lunch.
The guys are watching fb games so I have time to myself. I got an old Montgomery ward sewing machine at an auction yesterday.($3.00) I have oiled it and got things working again. It has cams and lots of fancy stitches so I hope to get it going right soon.
I plan to machine quilt 2 placemats today. I have the table runner finished. They need to be finished for a wedding shower this week.

grann of 6 09-26-2010 12:42 PM

Straightened up the kitchen, started working on DGD's quilt for Christmas. Didn't accomplish much on it though. Then while watching the NASCAR race, I worked on a sweater coat I started knitting 2 years ago. All I have left to do is sew the sleeves in and put some buttons on it. I'll do that tonight and be done with it. YEA!!!! Another project completed. Then all my knitting projects are done and ready to start on new ones. I call that a day of accomplishment.

Kooklabell 09-26-2010 12:45 PM

Walked in the woods with DH and dogs as we do each Sunday morning. Good time to say prayers and thanks. Worked on the center square for Sydney's quilts. BBQ'd steaks for dinner with DH, who is now snoozing. He made deer antler pens after our walk today. Now here and half watching a TV movie abour race hourses. Soon it will be time to read students' papers! ARGG. Only 80 to go.

Chasing Hawk 09-26-2010 12:48 PM

Did some chores outside, while our weather is nice. Put up the water hoses, cleaned behind the shop, took the shade cover down over the picnic table.
After I pry my butt out of this computer chair I have to start on a doll quilt for my nieces birthday.

Pam B 09-26-2010 01:00 PM

Had a late nite at my niece's wedding about 3 hours away from home so today I have been pretty lazy. We went to church then out for lunch. Now I am wrapped up in a blanket (how can it go from 90+ one day to barely 60 two days later?) and playing on the laptop while kind of watching the Colts/Broncos game. And, I do not intend to do much else today!

I spent the day at a quilting guild workshop. It was a workshop on Shape Shifting - similar to Magic Tiles or Stack and Whack, but more freestyle. You just make curved cuts and don't use a ruler. I don't particularly like the one (not fond of one of the colours) I did but I may like it more when it is finished. The workshop was given by Ionne McCauley from British Columbia. Here is a link to her website.

Ooh! Let's all run up to BC and take one of those classes.

annyroony2 09-26-2010 01:58 PM

Went for my morning walk, came home and started cooking Sunday lunch. Never sure who is going to show up, today had two families to come out. Always good to see kids and grandkids! Made brownies and sugar cookies.

GrammaNan 09-26-2010 02:41 PM

Woke up early and did some house keeping, went grocery shopping at three different stores to get the best deals. Watched the NASCAR race and am now watching the Bronco/Colts game. I would like to have gone to church but it didn't work out today. I have a roast in the oven and am on the board while I am waiting for it to get done.

maryb119 09-26-2010 03:01 PM

I went to a quilt amd craft show. I entered 2 quilts and got second place on one and third on the baby quilt.

raptureready 09-26-2010 03:07 PM

Sundays here are supposed to be to relax HOWEVER, today I've done laundry, washed curtains, and cooked. But it was only after going to church and having a wonderful time in prayer, praise and worship. That's the most important part of my Sundays, my week, my life. I guess I must be a leaky vessel because I need to be refilled on a constant basis. It's a little cool here in central Illinois. I don't think it got much above the mid 60s today.

I thought I was the only "leaky vessel". I read one time about this man that wanted to know why his friend went to church so much. Did he remember all the messages? The man's response was no, but in his life time he had had 1000's of meals and couldn't remember them either, but they nourished him. Sermons nourished his soul. I thought that was very well stated. I need nourishment often.

We had taken the camper to our friends, about a 2 1/2 hour drive, for their pig roast. This morning we packed up and drove home, then watched alittle of the race, while I was unloading the camper. Had to go to the grocery, them make supper and lunches for tomorrow. Finally got on-line. Really wanted to do some sewing, but just too tired. Won't be long before bedtime

I don't remember all of them either but I highlight and date them in my Bible. Then when I come across one while reading I'm reminded of what the pastor said. I also make notes in the margin. My poor old Bible is getting worn but by using whatever color hightlighter happens to be in my purse it sure is colorful!

CarrieAnne 09-27-2010 03:58 AM

I did my bible study at home this morning. Have a very hard time doing them....reading the Bible is hard for me, even with the new modern langauage ones, I get a bit confused, lol!
Anyhow, got onhere for a while, then attacted the house. Swept and swept, then vacumed up pet fur, lol!
Made a really nice dinner, roast with potatoes and carrots, then Boy friend fixed my leaky sink. Needed replacing, its been leaking bad and I so hate wasting water!
Cut a few appliques and listed some on his computer,at his house. Because on dial up, that would take DAYS! It was a nice day!

vjengels 09-27-2010 04:36 AM

I spent the morning reading the paper, having biscuts & gravy, cooking several things for the upcoming week, and laundry, the afternoon was spent in the sewing room, late afternoon was spent reading, a movie in the evening; and now it's Monday....
