it depends upon what I am wearing and or carrying I fouind that the purse especially designed for carrying is not very handy and hard to retreive weapon in a hurry I like a shoulder holster if I am wearing a jacket or overblouse. I sometimes use a boot holster. I have a flat holster that clips i nside your waist band I wear an ankle holster with boots This summer I will wear mostly skirts with a holster that attaches high up on inside of thigh . I also have 2 belt buckles designed for very small 22's one is considled and one the gun is right outthere with a quick relerase I have never been questioned when wearing it ppeople think it is just a belt buckle that looks like a gun. I also have a regular purse that I just keep one compartment for a gun. I also have kept a very small gun in my bra between "the girls" Hope this helps you come up with your own ideas after all if you need to use a weapon surprise is part ofyour protection. I am 65 and know one would ever tthink I carry, One other thing I forgot I have sewen inside pockets in some of my jackets where I just have a weapon loose in it

special thanks to Annie Oakley for your comments, my grand daughters both carry concealed weapons, and will certanly be thankful for your comments. also, Sassey, you arae totally correct about there being many holsters made that are much more sensible than a cutsie little bag in your purse. My one grand daughter's purse was taken from her, and we were all very thankful that her weapon was NOT in the purse, but concealed on her body.....

I have one sister who carries her's in her purse in it's little holster. The other sister has a holster that fits on her belt and is in the small of her back. Me? I can't fit my rifle in my purse, really sticks out. LOL!

I have a concealed weapons permit; I carry mine (.38 S&W) in what's known as a "ITP" holster...ITP for "in the pants"...very safe, very effective and you can get to it quickly. I carry in my midback at the waistband and use a left-handed holster...oh, and they aren't too expensive either. I don't carry a purse any more! Good luck with trying to make one...

What brand is the ITP holster? I carry in my purse but would like to find something more accessible. Thank you.

Thanks to everyone that commented and had suggestions on my original post. I think you all are right, it's better on you than in your purse. I'm going to have to check out some holsters. My DH has an ankle one but I was afraid when I crossed my legs my pants would come up and it would show. I'll check out one that goes in the waistband. I appreciate all of your help. Sassey, i'm 60 and it seems like alot of us baby boomers are now carrying.

I was told to not carry your handgun in your purse. If your purse gets stolen, guess where your handgun in. Does anyone wear their handgun on them rather than in their purse? If so, what type of holster do you use to conceal it? Curious before I make a purchase.
