Mine is in a holster which I just slip into my purse.
I do not have my conceal & carry yet so I display it on the dashboard of my car when I drive and then slip it back into my purse when I get out.

Great topic. Thanks for sharing all the info ladies.

Blessings,
Sandi

Sportsmansguide.com has purses made to hold handguns. It is not my intention to carry my gun in my purse, but to have it in my gun safe in the car which is a nice metal flat case with a combination lock. DH says you may want to carry it sometime, so get the purse!

I guess it would depend on whether you are allowed to carry it concealed or not. I would think putting in a pouch or zippered compartment would not be time efficient if you needed to actually use it to defend yourself.

I always, always, always carry on my body instead of in a purse or pocket. It is a safety issue and a weapon retention issue. A purse snatcher can easily grab a purse and should never find a handgun in it as part of his reward! A properly designed holster protects the gun carrier and those around us from "accidental" (negligent) weapons discharges. Even if a gun in a hip holster were to fire, the round would travel down into the ground/floor. A leg or foot wound might result but it probably wouldn't be lethal. A properly designed holster can also make it more difficult for anyone but the wearer to draw the gun from the holster.
