Something was lost in translation, I think.

Maybe they mean to water in the daytime rather in the evening. Just a thought.

With mine I fill the hole with water when I plant them , then water during the day as I was told if you water in the evening and the leaves stay damp in the evening they can get a fungus on the leaves . I water about every other day .

As for your instructions
   What were they thinking ! LOL What ever happened to quality control ?

I recently took a class on growing roses and I was told to give them an inch of water once a week.

My sister and I shared some chicken pot pies one day last week. The little packets with the pies in them had instructions that said "open both ends first". Huh???

I planted a lot of rose bushes given to me by a good intention friend. I didn't do anything to them but put them in a hole. They are thriving and I have to cut them back. I don't like roses bushes at all but love the roses. My friend asked me what I do to keep them so healthy. I said I told them to grow or go.

I have a friend who "gardens" that way. Her philosophy is that after she digs a hole and waters it once, then the plant is on its own. If it dies, it gets replaced...
