My husband's grandparents came to Australia from Germany (Retschlag).We are going over in October and are staying in Hamburg.

I came over here in 1980, spent a couple of years in Killeen and Temple. Moved to CA, back to Germany and now have been in Mississippi for 13 years. I'm from Stuttgart originally.

German and Dutch may not the same thing, but close enough for me. I love to hear the Dutch ladies talking about sewing and quilting in our shop!

On a few occasions, we’ve had Dutch ladies in one conversation, and Spanish ladies in another conversation, both going on at the same time in our little shop. What a hoot! It reminds me of walking through the airport and hearing all of the different languages being spoken. I think it’s neat.
