German is probably the only thing that is not in my ancestry.Of course there may be. I know for sure my Grandmother was Dutch as her parents came here from Holland. My grandfathers family has been over here for so long there is Lenape in the family way back when. French for sure since they were Huguenots that fled. The Coryell family has been here since before the Revolution.
My step great grandmother was German but thats all I know I don't know how far back or her maiden name.
My ex husband's family was German and Polish. His last name was Fuhrmann.
But we had a German Bakery in FL and I loved,loved going there to shop. :-)

My husband is half German, His Paternal Grandparents both were children when they came over around 1895. My understanding is their ancestors lived near the Alsace region and migrated to near Odessa Russia because of free farm land that was offered. The name is Gabriel, not sure how it started out and the other side was Martin and I know that was altered some.

My two granddaughters were born in Germany, and just moved to Indiana from Killeen, Does that count? :lol: :lol:

Most of my ancestors were from Germany. Goeden, Naber,Thummel. My BIL came from Germany as a teen - Kuster.

I came to the United States in 1965 from Hamburg, Germany and live in Ohio ever since. I would love to learn the terminology of quilting in German.

I have a hard time saying it, but no trouble at all eating it. I, too have German blood. I thought everyone did.
