I'll be 48 on August 2. Never feel old until somebody asks about my children....I guess I must be sorta old if I have a 29 year old daughter. However.....my mom had white hair by her early 40's and I have some grey but not too much, so I count myself lucky! I'd never bother to dye it either; I see it as a sign of experience and wisdom.

smagruder 06-22-2010 02:49 AM

Hi, I just turned 65... don't mind the number, just all the body problems coming on like gang buster. lol

quilter1 06-22-2010 02:53 AM

I'll be 57 in September, don't know where the time has gone though. My DH will be 60 this year, he still seems young to me. Young at heart I guess.

marybs 06-22-2010 03:12 AM

51 and life is sooooo good!
celebrated our 25th anniversary this year,
the youngest graduated h.s. this month and the oldest graduated college and is moving to NY this week.
So glad to have been alive to see it all, I am so very blessed!

I turned 64 in April and some of my nieces and nephews are in their 50's, and Iam a great aunt and a great-great aunt. Now doesn't that make you feel old.

Me too. I am 83 1/2. I thank God for every one of those years. I am still able to live alone and manage my home.
Stay busy with volunteer work and sewing.
I looked much better at 17 and long for that age again.
Wouldnt trade my life for any other.

rannyof3 06-22-2010 05:08 AM

I'll be 65 in 11 days. Don't feel like it until I look in the mirror. LOL. Only problem I have is that I need to work for the rest of my life, instead of retiring like some of my friends.....

kylenstevesmom 06-22-2010 05:21 AM

I am 41, and will be 42 in October.

I don't look my age, but my parents look young for thier ages as well.

Mom of eight 06-22-2010 05:53 AM

mygirl66 06-22-2010 05:59 AM

Im 301 in dog years! roflmao

Zephyr 06-22-2010 06:00 AM

I'll turn 74 in November. I have to own up to it as we have passed our 50th anniversary and two of our children are knocking at 50 years with two others into their 40's.

Rachelcb80 06-22-2010 06:09 AM

This thread really gave me a pick-me-up that I needed. Listening to all of you say how much you enjoy the age you are at is wonderful. I'm 29 and will be turning 30 this October. I'm having a hard time with it. It just feels like I've been twenty something forever and I've taken that for granted. I know I'm not going to explode or anything when I hit 30, but it just feels like it's the end of something. My husband is 15 years older than me so he doesn't sympathize at all. :)

marybs 06-22-2010 06:28 AM

I think 30 was hard- only because time goes slower and it seems like such a turning mark (and it is). Hitting 40 and 50 put it into perspective! Make the most of it. I think we went to bermuda when I turned 30- mark it in a big way!

Kimcatlou 06-22-2010 06:37 AM

Well, I do believe this group is composed of "mere children." I will be 79 in September, have moved to a retirement complex due to my husband's poor health, but inside I feel much, much younger.

Tinabodina 06-22-2010 06:42 AM

Age is a mind set, so with that I will say 25. In years I am 59 and loving my retirement. For the first time in my life I am able to stay home. Didn't know if I could adjust, but now I wonder how I ever worked and got everything done. I LOVE it. More time to quilt.

EagarBeez 06-22-2010 07:28 AM

It's funny. I have been telling my sister the other day. Gee, I am 56 and nearing 60. She said what??? DH overheard and said your not 56 your 55... are you rushing things.
Ha, forgotten how old I was or should I say young. I am young at heart and just love my age

I'm also 56 and also been told I look younger. Been told that all my life in fact. In my high school yearbook, I was named "most likely to be the first adult Gerber Baby Food model".

Anyway, instead of saying I'm 56, I prefer to say "I'm 40, plus shipping and handling".

tryitall 06-22-2010 07:53 AM

Hey, I'm proud of evey birthday that I get to celebrate. I really ;happy about my most recent. I got to sign up for social security. Yep! I'm 62!

Quilt4u 06-22-2010 08:16 AM

I'm 51 and proud of it. Can't get any younger . Aways have to move forward to better things. So we get better with age like a fine bottle of wine.

Yipee! It's your jubilee year! That was my favorite birthday ever. You can celebrate it all year.

roseOfsharon 06-22-2010 08:30 AM

He everyone! It is good to see so many "middle age" people here :) I am 61 and have enjoyed each year and hopefully will have many more to enjoy!

Katsie 06-22-2010 09:06 AM

daniellern76 06-22-2010 09:23 AM

Just turned 34, but it seems like I was just 24 the other day! It's not how old you are, it's how young you feel, right?

gloryj8 06-22-2010 09:41 AM

I'm 48. Although my hubby has to keep reminding me, for I too tend to forget a couple yrs. If someone asks I have to catch myself cause I always want to say 42...

hobo2000 06-22-2010 09:46 AM

I will be 72 in 4 months, but I still scuba dive and ride the roller coasters at Cedar Point, Ohio do my own yard work and have fun.

tryitall 06-22-2010 10:00 AM

Me Too!! If I'm not looking in the mirror, I feel about 30!

SuziC 06-22-2010 10:02 AM

I know what you mean!!! Mine are 34, 31, 28. I look at them and think WOW they are getting up there! I am a young 55 and don't mind at all. There are a few aches and pains but i have a group that keeps me young at heart. Everyday i am with my grandkids from 8-6pm They are ages 1,2,3,5
I am running around and up and down all day long. Except at nap time (my quilting time). They are the reason i stay so active and it's a great "stay at home" job. Age is just a number someone came up with to have a party!!

Shirlx 06-22-2010 10:19 AM

I am 71 and have to live at least another 30 years to get all the quilts that I have seen made.

Alu_Rathbone 06-22-2010 10:38 AM

22 years old!

butterflywing 06-22-2010 11:06 AM

RugosaB 06-22-2010 12:13 PM

A few months before I turned 50 in '08 I was in a car accident and have treasured every day I'm alive since then. Well since 2 wks after that because I was in a coma. From what I understand, I had happen to me what happens to a baby that has 'shaken baby syndrome', brain shear. I look perfectly normal on the outside but the inside is still a bit affected, and will be probably for life. .
All I can say is WEAR YOUR SEATBELT, it saved my life.
Anyways, I'm 52 and glad to be here and glad my love of sewing didn't get shaken out

julie 06-22-2010 12:17 PM

I will be 55 on July 9. These last 10 years have been the happiest of my life. I wouldn't trade this age for anything!

grandme26 06-22-2010 12:19 PM

I am 69 yrs young and feel at least 40 yrs younger. I look at my grandchildren and wonder how can I have GC when my own children are still little. Then I wake up.

kwiltkrazy 06-22-2010 12:26 PM

I'm 48, and have been married to the same man for over half my life(27years). But, my hubby says I act like a kid. Wish I felt like a kid. Quilting keeps me young. Physically and mentally.

FancyFoot 06-22-2010 12:31 PM
