Does it bother you to tell your age? Why do people want to know?

I could care less about age...either they are asking me because I looked like the 200 year old Dali Lama or they are asking me because they are amazed at my wisdom, hahahahhahaah

Anyway, I am 69 and proud of it. I may be 69 because that is the accepted way but I don't feel like 69. I am always at my favorie age of 32. That is when I got real upstart and spoke back to my elders hahahahahah

mamapeggy11 06-21-2010 09:11 AM

I'm 29 and holding......at least that is what I told everyone when I was suppose to turn the big 3 0 ..but they keep reminding me that I am 53 now. Age is only a #. I don't look in the mirror therefore I do not see the greyhair. I do remember a few years back I saw my elbow in the mirror while cleaning it and I thought OH Lord what has happen to me I have my mother's old elbow -LOL
I just started riding moutain bikes with my son and DIL - had never been on one and hadn't been a reg. bike in a few years. It's a blast. At first I said oh no I am not going to ride I might break an old bone-then I said what the heck , I could stumb my big toe tomorrow and break my neck-give me a bike!

thismomquilts 06-21-2010 09:38 AM

I am a whopping 48.5

sharon b 06-21-2010 09:38 AM

I am 45 ... but holding at 40  that was a great year for me

CarrieAnne 06-21-2010 09:51 AM

42, but I feel alot younger, lol!

quiltingfan 06-21-2010 09:59 AM

43 and still trying to figure out how I got to be 43.. Do not remember the time passing this fast before. But when i was 34 I thought I was 32 and was feeling out some papers when my husband corrected me. I did not believe him till he got the calculator out and proved it to me. I still do not know where those 2 years came from. Then on my b day I thought I was turning 38 and dad looked at me and said I was 37. I liked that much better than being told I was 2 years older. Now I try not to care. I started menopause a couple of years ago, I feel extremely young to be in menopause, so that was hard to come to grips with. I think I am handling it better now though. Sorry this is so long, did not know I had this much to say about my age. It must have hit a button with me.

[quote=mamapeggy11]I'm 29 and holding......

That's what I keep saying although it is getting more difficult to pass that off seems as my oldest hit thirty (SS), in february, and the youngest is about to be 21 in 6 months.

But it's my story and I am sticking to it, even if my DL says I am about to be 45

fliedermaus 06-21-2010 10:03 AM

I am 23. Sometimes I feel so young and inexperienced on here, but I love learning from everyone. Age shouldn't be important in my opinion.

I just celebrated my 36th anniversary of my 30th birthday. :-D :-D

If my kids weren't so darn old (43, 41 & 39) I would never realize how old I really am. But they keep aging!!!

paintedquilt 06-21-2010 10:10 AM

Oh BTW, I love my grey/silver hair. No more dying. I stopped at 60. I am now officially a platinum blond...

mzsooz 06-21-2010 10:27 AM

I'm 53 but Dr. Oz's real age test says I'm 72 :(

Marjpf 06-21-2010 10:28 AM

I am 55 and never have had any problem with admitting my age. However, I still feel about 32, just wiser than I was then. I rejoice for every year I've been around - why hide it?

cjomomma 06-21-2010 10:30 AM

I'm 42 and proud of it. Some days I feel 25 and others I feel 85. Having a little one around I think is what keeps me going.

azdesertrat 06-21-2010 10:32 AM

ill be 52 in Nov,actually had to get a calculator out to figure it out, thats either sad or good, cuz I don;t feel it(?)

Boston1954 06-21-2010 11:00 AM

56. I've been told so many time that I don't look my age, so I do not concern myself with it.

Grandmother23 06-21-2010 11:09 AM

53 yrs, 1 day and a few hours. Yesterday was my birthday and I still say it is just another day, I just didn't have to work. I mentioned to my son yesterday that he is 35 and I am 53 and I thought that was kind of weird.......

Borntohandquilt 06-21-2010 11:25 AM

I'm 44 and I love this age.

craftybear 06-21-2010 11:27 AM

53 years old (Birthday, November 15, 1956)

Maride 06-21-2010 11:34 AM

47 years, 4 months, 8 days. Some days I feel older but some days I feel younger.

quiltilicious 06-21-2010 11:40 AM

I'm 34 (in Hexadecimal... that's the geeky base-16 counting system used by computers - yes, I'm a geek, LOL!)

In regular counting, I'm 52.

jamh 06-21-2010 11:51 AM

Im 29!! I have two kids 9 and 5!! And I feel like a kid so age is just a number!! lol

fabric-holic 06-21-2010 11:56 AM

I'm 20 x 3 minus 5mos = Granny x six !!
Love it...I wouldn't go back to a younger age even if I could. It wasn't so great...and I didn't have my grandbabies..

Judy_M 06-21-2010 12:09 PM

I'm 63

Joanie2 06-21-2010 12:12 PM

I just turned 57. When I'm with quilter friends of all ages I don't feel a day over 35.

beckyw 06-21-2010 12:18 PM

I'm 56. Had a child at 45.

jljack 06-21-2010 12:26 PM

On June 13 I turned 59. 59? Can't be!!! What year was I born? Oh, yes, 1951. So.....59. Yup!! I have a daughter that will turn 36 in October. And another daughter who will be 26 in November. And a grandaughter that just turned 18 in May. OK, so I guess it is 59. I don't feel it, and people say I don't look it. My 85 year old mother looks great, and people think she's early 70's. Must be good genes!! :-)

JKMom 06-21-2010 12:30 PM

I'm 48, and I love my age!

Lynnejean 06-21-2010 12:31 PM

I just turned 50 this year and was so proud of making it to 50 that i told everyone I met that day! Can't believe it! I use to think 50 was old but now I just think its not old just a WHOLE lot smarter.

Judith Rae 06-21-2010 12:32 PM

I'm 69 today and young at heart.
