I don't like slap stick, practical jokes, or horseplay. I find that not politically correct is usually funny in any form.

Dean Martin and Jerry Lewis
Carol Burnett Red Skelton Lucille Ball Are You Being Served? Keeping Up Appearances (both from England) |
I agree with much of what you like. I find things just a little too gritty anymore. Hubby has shows he can only watch when I'm out with my quilting friends

I don't ever find slapstick or people getting hurt funny. I like subtle humor, like any movie by Wes Anderson. Garrison Keillor used to be funny, before he started interjecting his politics into everything. When he was just telling stories from Lake Wobegon he was never better.

My book club just read book, 'A man called Ove by Fredrik Backman'. Reviews use words such as you'll laugh, you'll cry, black humour, laughs and more.
i read the book and found nothing funny just sadness and a very strange life i definately have a strange thing to make me laugh. |

There are a few of those station like MeTV that are popping up. I am off the grid with my humor. Bill Maher makes me laugh!

I too dislike most of AFV! I do laugh out loud at the newspaper comics frequently. Diane C.

I think most Olie and Lena jokes - done with an accent - are a hoot.
Dumb blond jokes - funny or not funny? I think we do need to be able to laugh at ourselves. Some of the customs of "my people" do look strange and funny to others. |
