I am a Master

BUT, I am now a Master gardener in Garfield county Oklahoma....along with the Oklahoma Home and community educators Rookie of the year for Garfield county! Next comes the Master Naturalist class in June! |

hmmm.. ok im gonna be the first to ask a question... lol..
We had 'problems' with the Asian beetles.. ( ick!) What is the best remedy to keep them at bay? Inquiring minds would like to know.. especially me.. lol.. |
Congrats, I use to watch Jerry baker on TV years ago, he is a Master Gardener also. I use to grow things, just some houseplants and a few gift flowers, I have very little interest now. I just want to make quilts now.
Congratulations! That is not an easy accomplishment. You put in a lot of work to achieve this. Well done!
congratulations!
Congrats! I had thought of taking the classes this winter, but I never really got caught up on photography work, and then, I was bitten by the quilting bug! I do love gardening though, and I can definitely appreciate all the work it takes to be a Master Gardener!
I have a daughter in NJ who also is a Master Gardener. She has all kinds of useful information of which I gladly partake. :)
Congratulations. I am sure that you are a master quilter also.
and I am JEALOUS! I wanna....I was even signed up for the classes....but the shop and life got in the way. Maybe next year!
Always wanted to become a Master Gardener, but when I retired and had the time, I had a knee replacement that went bad plus added a few pounds. Thus, no garden. Congratulations!
Congratulations! That is a really wonderful thing to do. When I was able to work I dreamed of doing it, however became ill before I could. I admire those who do it. You will be able to share your knowledge and make the world a healthier and prettier place. Thank you for doing this.

Way cool! Congratulations!

Congratulations and good luck in your next step. My dad is a master gardener here in North Dakota, but I think that is one of the old generations that have that.

I feel extra bless to have been able to take the course this year. Our extension office only offers every other year and only 20 people in the entire county get accepted! I was the 20th person. But we had 3 drop out..such a shame!
The Master gardener program is actually very active in OK. I suppose most rural areas it would be. I know I tried since 2006 to get into this course! As for the Asian beetle question, are you talking Asian lady beetles? Either way, beetles are generally Predators, NOT prey so they are good to have around. Though at times, like early SPring and early Fall, they tend to be annoying in some areas when they are around in droves. Best defense, a vaccuum! Honest, that is what the bug guy told us! Vaccuum them up, put them into a paper bag and release them in a more rural area! I garden using bugs VS bugs! In fact I have praying Mantis cases in my fridge now waiting for me to put them out so they can start coming alive! Lady bugs and green lacewings will come in May! I wish I could find Soldier beetles though.. Thank you all for your kind words. |
Congratulations!! What an accomplishment! I bet you garden is beautiful! My thumb is barely green so I admire those whose are!!
Way to go, that is great. I love working outside in my yard. Love the spring of the year.
Whooo Hooo for you Jacquie:thumbup:. That is something I have wanted to do for a long time. I have alway said that I don't have a green thumb, I have a brown thumb from digging in my dirt.
Congrats! I was just reading about the Master Gardener program in my area the other day. I forgot how many hours go into that program before being certified.
Congratulations Jacquie! That is a huge accomjplishment!
WOW thats great!!! See if you can share some tips somewhere on the board!! We'd love to hear them!
That's Great! Go and Grow!!!
Congratulations! It is quite an intensive course! I've been thinking about doing it again (MG in TX 25 yrs ago) here in LA. I just may look into it again!
