I save everything, because I can't afford to buy any. :? Penny

Why not make crumb quilts? That's a quilt that uses the left overs from a scrappy. I've also seen where people list bags or boxes of scraps here and if people will pay the postage they can have these leftovers. Just my 2cents worth. LOL

All my scraps go to a charity. I don't ever use them, and I have saved some for over 3 years!!

I'd love to have anybody's scraps too. I make mostly scrappy quilts with tiny pieces... love the details. My problem is I have trouble getting enough variety of fabrics since my crafting budget is really minimal.

I felt like that once and threw away those nasty scraps!! Only to find out later I had made a BIG mistake by doing so. When I found some antique dresden plates (30's fabric) that I needed to finish off. I remembered the scraps that my husbands great-great aunt had given me and that I had pitched. I couldn't hardly forgive myself for it. Now I have scraps that I manage with Bonnie Hunters system.

I've seen her system. I haven't used it though, it is one of the nagging items on my TO DO List.

Try getting a flat rate box and setting in on the chair next to you. Put all scraps in it. When it is stuffed, tape it shut and mail it to a scrapper. What a fun surprise for them. Just put an add and take names. Draw a name out of the hat. Quilting is all about scraps.

On the other hand, you can feel buried if it isn't organized. I can't afford to throw all my scraps away. Not until they are less than 1/2" width.

Where could info be found about this?

About the Hunters system, or about who wants scraps? This thread identifies lots of quilters who love scraps. Look up Bonnie Hunter on the internet to find her system.
