I was driving home from work this evening and traffic was heavy as usual, and just as I was getting into the first town I have to drive through before I get home I realized I had a flat tire. Luckily I was in the right hand lane, so I pulled into to the Walgreen's parking lot and parked and got out of my car to take a look. Sure enough, it was flat as a pancake. Just as I was about to call my husband to come and help me change the tire, this young 20 something young man walks up and asks me if I would need help with changing the tire. It turns out he was behind me in traffic and when he saw I had a flat, he pulled out of traffic and stopped to help. He said it was his Christian duty to help others. How wonderful is that! :D

But wait, it gets better. After I get to my home town I stop at the local tire shop where we usually take our business and have the tire fixed. When the guys there are finished, they tell me no charge today! I asked, what is the occasion, that there is no charge for the tire repair. The guy at the shop said, times are too tough for everyone, and they just want their customers to have the money they need to buy gas.

Now how cool is that? :D There are still some good people in the world.....besides all you guys here on this board. It makes my heart warm to think about it. :-D :-D

Hi MissM,

I'm so glad you had a blessed day with your flat tire. What a wonderful good deed by the young fella to help you get the tire switched out.

I just wanted to share that one of our local tire store companies provides this policy for tires bought at their store. This has saved me several times. Once even just a week after getting a new tire. I make sure to get all my tires there and I sure share their company name with everyone I know.

Wonderful! It is so nice once in a while to hear of good deeds done by our fellow humans, when most of the news is so sad and grim. To know that there are people out there who will help when it is needed. Just makes a perfect ending to my day. Thanks for sharing your blessings with us.

What a blessed day indeed! Isn't it wonderful? And the folks that blessed you feel pretty good about helping I am sure. During these hard times, it is so nice to hear stories like this instead of horror stories. I agree...you blessed us by sharing. It might be a good thing to try to do 1 nice thing for someone every day if we can. It might just make their day. I am starting right now. See yall tomorrow.

ufoqueen 04-14-2011 07:16 PM

It seems to me that most of the young folks I come in contact with ARE really nice. Thanks for taking the time to spread the good word, we need more positive talk these days.

Leota 04-14-2011 09:07 PM

wanda lou 04-14-2011 09:51 PM

BobbiSue 04-14-2011 09:58 PM

What a wonderful blessing. Not only did the young man stop to help (how many that age will do that these days?) but you had the tire repaired for free. Think you may have run into a couple angels appearing as men! God bless you.

Wow! That is wonderful. It gives you faith in the innate goodness of people. Blessed is right.

quiltingfan 04-15-2011 04:38 AM

When I had a flat tire here in New Jersey! I had 2guys tell me I was blocking there way. It was 630 in the morning. I ended up changing it myself. Hate to talk bad about new jersey because somethings we really like about it, but people are a lot ruder here.

Great-great granny 04-15-2011 04:38 AM

gmaybee 04-15-2011 07:49 AM

So glad you had a wonderful experience from something that could have been awful. I live in a town that is small, (unless it is NASCAR race weekend). My local small town tire store does all repairs, rotates and everything else with tires purchased at their store. I've been buying from them for years.

Homespun 04-15-2011 08:24 AM

Nice story--glad you had a blessed day!
