Always thought Joann's was over priced and did not like the whole coupon thing. Now with all the Walmarts no longer having fabric I thought Joann would be my back up. I guess not. Also looking online and looking to buy used fabric. Infortunately I do not have much spending money right now. Glad for the "stash" I do have.

Yep it has it written on the bolts as Moda and when I first started getting it from both Hancock's or JoAnne is was some nice fabric but not any more, it a lot thinner than it started out as that is why I'm not sure that it's Moda's. It would not surprise me if they wrapped a cheaper brand on the bolt.

I don't think $1 a yard is any deal. I don't even look if it is only that. We all have to be smart shoppers!

I agree, why do they have to raise the price on fabric they bought years ago????

it sure doesn't stop the gas stations from raising the prices on the gas from the last load....now does it?

You do know who gets stuck.......US.....little guys

Wow that is bad news! We will definetly have to start being more creative & frugal. Hopefully it will pass.

We have one wal mart that still has a fabric dept. Guess I will become a regular custtomer over there. Also, I found that the fabric at Connecting threads is very reasonable. I guess I won't be a regular Joann shopper any more.

Well, you can bet your boots that when cotton is plenty again the price won't be going down!!!

As far as JoAnn's being bought by PetCo, it's almost the truth. They have been bought by Leonard Green and Partners. If you check out their website you will see they are an investment company. http://www.leonardgreen.com/retail.htm
They own many companies including, The Container Store, Petco , Wholefoods, Neiman Marcus group. Maybe it will be a good thing that they bought JoAnn's - IF the quality goes up with the prices. If not - they won't be getting any more of my money.
