When I read your title, I assumed you had somehow managed to sit on a quilting needle or pin and had to go get it removed! Hope everything works out all right and you recover qickly!
|
I will pray for a solution and quick recovery. What an unbelievable story, 30 years, talk about great medical care. Amazing that it was taken this long to e problematic. Wishing you get a great doctor that will take the darn thing out and you won't suffer any more.
|
OMGoodness Granny. Sounds terrible. Hope they get it out soon, and you can get back to trying your new sewing machine. HUGS and PRAYERS for YOU !!!! Let us know how you are doing.
|
So sorry to read this happened to you. Absolutely, you need to inform the original doctor about this. He/she will probably offer some kind of financial help, if not.... well, that's why docs carry insurance so we innocent victims don't have to foot the bill for something gone wrong.
Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers. Please post when they decide what to do and keep us updated. I'll be interested to find out the end result.  |
Ouch!! Hope they fix you up really soon and all will be okay with you.

I "knew" about it, but since it happened more than 30 years ago, I`ve forgotten all about it a long time ago. The doctor back then didnt say a word but about half a year later I had an x-ray where it showed. They told me to take care of it, otherwise I would get problems sooner or later. I was so young and there was no pain.........so what. So it took that darn thing more than 30 years to move into the skin of the bone and the pain is almost killing me. Have to wait for thursday morning to go to the hospital where they will discuss on how to take it out. please keep your fingers crossed (my Janome horizon was delivered this morning and I hardly can sit!?) Bless your heart! I'll say a prayer for you.

That Dr. should have told you and taken care of it immediately! Sorry you are having to go thru all this and hope they can figure it out and get it out of there! You will be in my prayers!

Good luck...hope you get it out and better soon....

Ouch!! i do hope they are able to get the needle out safely and soon. My husband gives himself shots and bends his needle in the vial of insulin which makes me crazy. i cautioned him the other day about doing that. bent needles can break! even though he only does his in his stomach, it still worries me.
good luck. |
Good luck and speedy recovery so you can sew on that new machine.
|
Oh, My.
I thought you were going to say you did it to yourself quilting. J J |

Best wishes for a successful fix and speedy recovery Granny!
Before you know it you will be able to enjoy your new Janome Horizon! Take care! |
Prayers...hope it is successful.

Thank you all so much!
Spend 6 hours at the emergency unit today: they doubt that the pain is caused by the needle!? They gave me several pain killers and finally some morphine drops. An x-ray of the spine did not show any degeneration and I will have to go for a MRI. If that does not show anything I will insist on having the needle removed. I do have pain!!! even if they think there is no cause............. I am extremely p...ed. But look at the bright side: thanks to the morphine drops I was able to play a little bit with the Horizon. It purrs like a kitten  thank you for all your wellwishing. Granny |
Ouch! I cringed just reading about it!
|
At least you can play with your new machine for now. Hope everything goes well for you. Keep us informed.
|
OH, how painful, I will be praying that the Dr's are able to removing the needle without any complications or causing more discomfort. Please keep us posted about the out come.
|
OMG! I am so sorry. I hope it is quickly resolved. But I sure am jealous of that new machine tho.... Wow. Life getting intense much?
You have my prayers. |
They are going to give you an MRI with a piece of steel in your hip? Not very smart. Are they trying to pull it out without having to do surgery? LOL. I would ask for them to remove the metal first!
|
All I can say is OUCH!!! and can't believe a Doctor didn't insist to take it out right away! Hope your procedure goes well and that you have a speedy recovery...

Oh, I had to write in reply to your reply. I did actually have a piece of a broken quilting needle in my thigh, for a few weeks. I had a terrible habit of sticking my needle in the arm of the couch , just for a few minutes, in between other things. So, I sat down, the needle had fallen onto the seat, and it broke. I couldn't find all of it, and hoped it had falllen down in the couch. Several weeks later, it sort of felt like it was stinging in my leg, so I went to the doc, had an x-ray. Sure enough, it was there, and had to have surgery with a live x-ray. Don't stick needles in the couch anymore, for sure.
|
Good luck, you are in my prayers. Keep us posted, and you have to get back to sewing, of course
|
Ouch, I can't even imagine the pain. Good luck to you.
