I had a bug in mine too.. They disapppear after awhile.. just think of it as a bug globe instead of a snowglobe. I noticed there is another one in mine now too though. Time will take care of this one too.

Well, just keep it on steam, and you'll cook it. The only good bugs are dead bugs. I guess that should be a lesson to all of us not to leave water in the iron when we're not using it. I'd never have thought of that!

I have never seen a bug in a iron! Seems like they always get in places they shouldn't.... like the house.....but the iron?? LOL

If it continues to float I would just keep the iron filled and keep using it. If it starts to come apart I would go with the shaking and dumping already recommended. A "part" might stop up something in the iron.

This would really bug me, too.

How about going the other direction, pour out all the water you can get out. Put it aside and let the bug dry out. When it looks good and dry, use one of those little attachments that you can attach to your vacuum sweeper and see if you can suck it out when it is dry and brittle. (Or you may be able to spear it with a pipe cleaner)

I purchased a mini attachment for the vacuum sweeper in a computer store like Fry’s Electronics. They use it for cleaning around the computer keys. It cost me about ten dollars and that would be a lot cheaper than buying a new iron.

Yes, think how much young guys spend on gear stick thingos with black widows and scorpions trapped in the bubble!

Thanks for the chuckle! My iron has a sage bug - 1/2" beetle thing - hanging out in the water tank, just like yours! Hasn't gone away yet, but hasn't bothered anything either.

ROFLMBO and PMSL you forgot to add CHEAP :D:D:D

I wonder if the iron manufacturer's will start making "bug caps" to cover these holes when the iron is not in use

Looks like a stink bug. We have a big run of them here in Pa. this year.
