I have a Kenmore machine up on craigslist now. I had a girl email saying she wanted it. She was already to come that day . By 6 I hadn't heard so emailed her. I like to give people the benefit of the doubt but all of a sudden her car broke down. hmm she said she would contact me , haven't heard anything. To me it is just a hassle but I don't know any other way to get rid of it. Its in a cabinet and weighs a ton so no shipping.

Sometimes you do better by asking a small price. Then people think they are getting a bargain. For some reason, people don't seem to be as interested in freebies as they are in bargains.

Make sure you are home with a neighbor or someone when someone does want to pick it up.

if all else fails, maybe purple heart will pick it up..or the salvation army..call and tell them what you have..

i love freecycle, i moderate one in my city.

I have a lot of fabric I can no longer use. I could never use it all in my lifetime. I have tried to donate it locally but have been unable to find anyone. If anyone here could use it please let me know. How do I go about answering someones reply?

Some things I dont' mind giving away. But I would like to get at least enough money for the Kenmore to cover getting my Brother serviced. I used Freecycle all the time in Ga. Every time I cleaned anything out I put it on Freecycle. I met some really neat people.

The first person never picked it up, the second person called and cancelled, the third person gave me her boyfriend's cellphone number, when I called he was at a restaurant (not with her) 10 minutes from my house but didn't want to drop by on his way home and pick it up (he said he'd have her call me).

I finally sent out emails to the rest of the people that responded (when I got 15 hits, I deleted the ad) and told them first person who called me and picked up today got it. The very last gal who emailed me called, she lived in my TOWN, and came right over and picked it up.

She emailed me later and thanked me again for the fabric and said she was already starting on a quilt for her grandson.

So, at least someone who appreciated it got it, but what a hassle!

If I lived in CA I'd have been there in a heart beat. I make scrappy quilts for children who are experiencing devastating family crisis. Most are distributed by the local police and fire depts. Any extras I send to the local hospital children ward.

I sent a e-mail to the same person, got no response, people on CL are in a world of there own sometimes, although I bought a FW from a really nice lady from Pine Flat from CL :D

If I was closer to your location I probably would have contacted you regarding the fabric, I check CL regularly :D

I love scrap;s and am in So. CA. Next time you have a bundle to unload, I'd be interested in them. At least somebody that quilts will get good use out of the scraps.
