OKC has a wonderful hands on kids science museum! Great Salt Plains was amazing, my kids loved it and even did science project the following year after we visited. You've gotten some awesome suggestions from the members of the group!!! Tye Dying shirts is certainly always a hit with the kids! Whatever you do have fun and enjoy the time. It will be great memories for all. Anne CRAYONS! I just ck'd online. Unfortunately the Winfield KS loc closed in '97 per their info...only locs in PA now. Oh well. Did you ever attend the Folk Music Festival (Walnut Valley Festival). Got their mailing this last week, will be 39th one this year Sept 15-19. Can camp etc. RAINS though. What a mess! We decided to got w/o reservations anywhere till 2 wks prior...HUGE mistake. Had to drive an hour back/forth to event AND had to go buy cleaning supplies and clean the room myself. I'd like to go again, but MUST make reservations a year out. BEST, BEST music!!!!! I love it attracts all age groups, such an interesting event. Me, I like the 'ol stuff. ALL accoustic! |

Go to Leonardo's in Enid. A great hands on museum and huge outdoor wood playground maze. My grandkids love it. There is also a park on the south edge of Enid that has a small train you can ride, miniature golf course and a couple of other rides. Great place for a picnic lunch. There is also a water park on west Garrison.

I have picnic day in the livingroom, we do tents out of blankets for camping day, we bake "special treats" for mommy, play with shaving creme, play dough. Finger paint white tee shirts, Papa loves his little hands tee shirt...i made it into a pillow I hope this helps...have fun!!! ALSO, I LOVE YOUR FLOWER BASKETS QUILT!!!!! |

Pick a day that is not too windy & make glitter ornaments, snowflakes from pipe cleaners and picture frames. Get those gifts done early! Make it a big Santa's workshop secret! I recall covering a cheapo white cat with lots of calico bits (jr high or so) and covering with clear plastic -something- (WHAT I do NOT recall!). I had it for years, because I really did like the little thing. There's a bunch of stuff i've recently discarded, given away, etc. MAJOR clean-out! FEELS SO GOOD!!! I guess we'd just have to go rebuy my junk at the thrift store When the school year starts, it's hard to find time. Now I am going to send you a photo of leaf printing- another favorite of mine. |

Yes!! I spent a number of years as a craft vendor 25+ years ago at Winfield it was always great fun, always seemed to either be REALLY HOT or REALLY WET!! I was usually under the grandstand, the music was always AMAZING. I am so sorry to hear of the Crayon Factory, it was soo neat, guess I must have gotten there the last time just before it closed... to sad and I am sure it made a great impact on the local economy.
Check out Woolaroc Museum, Outside of Bartlesville and OSAGE Hills Park.
