Well I finally got moved to TN. I don't even want to talk about how stressful it was! I'm still unpacking boxes but my son is bring my sewing machine this weekend and I can at least get a little quilting in between the unpacking and maybe it will save my sanity!
I sure have missed this board and all the nice people here. I'm glad to be back. Probably won't be on here a lot just yet. But just a little will help.

Glad you made it safely to your new home. Unpacking is such a pain, I think it's worse than the moving. I hope you enjoy your new home. :-)

Glad your move is over and you're back 'on board' :D
Quilting between boxes sounds like the perfect plan to me too .. :D

Debbie B 05-13-2011 06:02 PM

Welcome back to the board. Most of my family lives in Cookeville & Crossville TN. I love it there.

Kappy 05-13-2011 06:39 PM

Welcome back! Quilting and sanity, isn't that an oxymoron?
LOL

mhollifiel 05-14-2011 03:36 AM

Love your heart! Two moves ago I swore the next time I moved it would be in a pine box. After this last move, I almost wished it had been! Hope your move goes well. Having your machine up and available will help!

quiltaroni 05-14-2011 04:10 AM

Oh the joys of moving.NOT.

I will be in the same boat in a few months, I will be moving from Colorado to Nebraska.

Wine Woman 05-14-2011 06:00 AM

How fun! I've only moved 5 times in my life and would always be there for my friends! Wish I could be there for you too. I enjoy packing and unpacking-organizing and reorganizing. Do you get a new sewing room too?

Welcome back . . . can't wait to see your posts again.

mjsylvstr 05-14-2011 06:28 AM

the last time I moved was only about 100' away.

We purchased an old home next door and my husband worked on it as his retirement project and did it at his leisure. About three years later, we moved in but the bag and baggage had been moved gradually over the last year...now if one has to move, that's the way.

We are now snowbirds going to Florida for 4 months during the winter.....and believe me, I am still unpacking from that......
I take my fabric with me and buy more while there..so you can just imagine the packing and unpacking.

Good luck and welcome back to the forum....

welcome back!
set up your sewing room first... that goes a long way in the sanity department..

grandjan 05-14-2011 09:22 AM

Welcome back to the board--and to Tennessee. What town are you in. I'm in Greeneville, just west of Johnson City and Jonesboro.

Kas 05-14-2011 09:23 AM

I still haven't completely unpacked from our move 11 years ago or so! Welcome back to the board!

enerod 05-14-2011 09:36 AM

nursie76 05-14-2011 11:38 AM

So glad you're back! Wish I could help with the unpacking, but just a little to far to be able to dash over. I am sure that when your son brings your machine, you will feel more at home.

Welcome to TN. I live in East TN; I wonder if we are close to each other. I don't envy you the hard work of unpacking and getting things straight, but it will eventually get done. Good luck, take lots of breaks and think quilts.
