I'm so excited. I can't tell anyone yet because it's not 100% confirmed so this is the only place I can talk about it. lol

DH and I both met with student advisers from Oregon State University and they looked at our transcripts and said that with our 4.0 GPAs we're almost guaranteed to get accepted. So now all we have to do is formally apply and wait for our acceptance letter. I will be SO happy to get out of this town. I mean, I love everything that I've learned and I'll miss my friends but there are no job opportunities here and the community college is a joke. I can't wait to move because we'll be closer to a big city (shopping!!!!) and closer to a major airport which means I can fly home to visit my parents much, much cheaper than I can now.

Anyway, I'm just excited and bursting to tell someone so I'm telling you all. lol

maryb119 12-02-2010 11:26 AM

amandasgramma 12-02-2010 12:01 PM

YAY!!!! sounds GOOD! You'd love Corvallis -- I was born there. And you're so much closer to the coast, to Portland.....oh yeah, and it's a GOOD (if not excellent) college! You should BOTH be so proud of those GPAs, too!!!!

Murphy 12-02-2010 12:32 PM

I work at a university. 4.0 will get you in (rofl). Congratulations.

MaRanda 12-02-2010 12:38 PM

Won't you miss Tater Patch Quilts in Merrill. It is one of the best quilt stores I have seen.

But I do understand about K Falls. Not much going on there. Good luck at OSU.

I will miss it but apparently Corvallis has three quilt stores and since we'd be so close to the coast I'm sure I could find some more over there. Hooray, more excuses to go fabric shopping. lol

thelondonzoo 12-02-2010 03:49 PM

Thank you for all the congratulations. I am jumping up and down inside and it's killing me that we can't tell anyone yet. We're submitting our applications in January and the school said we'd hear back from them in February so I have to keep quiet for almost 3 months!

mollymct 12-02-2010 04:59 PM

Congratulations!!

Mimito2 12-02-2010 05:29 PM

Christina I am so happy for you and sometimes strange things happen with a new move. Maybe the pitter patter of little feet. I don't know how many times I have heard that happen when a person moves.

polly13 12-03-2010 09:11 AM

If it's meant to be, all will work out for you and your DH. Isn't it nice to have a place to share a secret? Your quilting friends will travel with you whereever you go. Best of luck as you and your DH travel on life's journey.

Quilter2B 12-03-2010 11:08 AM

And you'll like Corvallis too! It is just a hop, skip and a jump to Salem, Wilsonville, OC & PDX, an hour or so to the Coast and a hop East to the mountains. How fun is that?!? Of course, you'll have to squeeze studying in there too! Good Luck! Go BEAVERS!!!!!

I had a dream that it was October and we were living in a new home and I was pregnant. I'm crossing my fingers!!!

Thank you everyone! We're going to make our first scouting trip in April to see if we can find some housing. We just want to rent while we're in school. As soon as we both find stable work after we graduate then we'll start looking into buying a home. DH said he's going to send in his application for admission in January and the adviser told him we'd hear back in February if he got accepted. he's also going to try for some scholarships. I'm going to apply in March, after I have the required classes completed. Thank you so much in sharing with my happiness. It means so much to me to have people to talk to about this! *hugs*
