That's my story and I'm sticking to it!

I'm not cheap but I do watch for value. I am a believer of better quality is worth the extra money and saves money in the long run. I'm thinking I may need to change that mindset. Being older I don't need items to outlast the price I paid for them. LOL

I don't shop at Hobby Lobby so can't speak to their prices, but I know it was not uncommon 7 or 8 years ago a single Olfa blade was $4.95 or more depending on where you bought it. Many people were buying their blades at Harbor Freight. But they were more for cutting industrial fabrics and carpets. When someone on the QB would talk about a sale on-line I would order a bunch. At one time I think I had 50 blades because the various sales were so good. And I think I was spending $10.00 for 10 at the time. Just now finally down to the last 5 (I think). I love the QB but I hate the feeling of FOMO I get when someone talks of a good sale. Every so often I have to have a stern talk with myself I have enough of something. And I am sorry to say, sometimes the talk fails.

I was at Hobby Lobby today. Exactly one month from the time of this starter post.

I happened to see Fiskar product were on sale this week.
June 20 this same package was $19.99 Four years ago it was $4.99 as the photo above shows. (we moved here in 2019, not 2021 as I said in the first post).
Today:Something is not right. Not right at all.

Did the price up because the products were on sale? They were 40% off. So the price would have dropped to $19.79. Do they change the prices back to normal after the sale? Or has the price jumped that much in a month's time! I can't believe HL would stoop to such deceitful pricing practice. I stopped shopping at Joann for this very reason.

If people would stop buying products the prices would drop down. Covid shut downs taught us all to buy as soon as we see it or else. And businesses are taking full advantage of it. HL advertises itself as a Christian business. Raising prices like that is not particularly what Jesus would do. Greed sucks. I am stepping off my soapbox now.

Oh my gosh! I might need to go back to cutting with scissors and cardboard templates. I believe I'm on my last blade and will need to buy soon. Time to start shopping for sales I reckon!

I was wondering where I stashed all my fabric scissors because I will not pay that much for a rotary blade! I'm sure amazon.com or harbor freight has them more affordable than that package found by onebyone.

Absolutely, I buy mine on Amazon. Last fall someone on here did a really good thread about Japanese steal blades. I found them on Amazon, $9.99 for 10 blades, absolutely love them and highly recommend them. No scissor cutting for me.
