me to, this past week, i have been waking up at 3am. i am not one to just lay in bed, when i am awake. so i get up..so blessed to be retired, and am able to take a nap. i would be a wreck if i was still working.

I am with watterstide, I go straight to sleep and then wake at some ridiculous time of the morning and cannot get back to sleep.
My 13 year old DD just cannot go to sleep but once she does hates to get out of bed.
Not Fun !!! :(

I read that among the things that cause insomnia are sitting in front of the computer too long-30 minutes before bedtime, one should turn it off and do something that is easier on the eyes. I've noticed that a lot of times when I can't sleep at night, I didn't follow this advice. Might be worth a try.

Had the same problem. Dr gave me sleeping meds to get my sleep cycle on track..just for a month. Did a sleep study, came out with sleeping rules and the fact that I am not a normal sleeper. Went to a shrink (she said I was perfectly ok). I'm fine now.

It seems like most women suffer from insomnia. I slept great until I was about 45 years old. You would think someone would have an answer that didn't involve sleeping pills. I was also told to take benadryl...I thought that was so strange. I have tried it, but only when I knew I had a busy day coming up and was willing to try anything.

So sorry...Good Luck..

I blame mine on hormones. It's getting better with age (Don't we all?) Also, don't worry about the wedding! They'll be just fine and won't even notice if something's not quite right. You'll sleep -from exhaustion- when it's over. Been there.

I suffer from insommia too. I have fibromyalgia which causes me not to go into a deep sleep. Therefore I take pills which help but it's still difficult to sleep at times. I think some of my problem is hormones too. As far as getting addicted to sleeping pills, it doesn't bother me. I take them only as prescribed and do not abuse them. I need sleep to function and feel human during the day.
