I took myself off FaceBook about 6 months ago, and while I miss seeing pictures and news of my close relatives, it's actually a relief to be free from the brain-sucking, time-wasting, too-much-information aspects of FB!

Not a fan of facebook. My DD signed me up and I have some friends on there, but I get lost on it, so I stay off.

Does anyone know how to remove a Facebook account?

I use FF to 'Like' various quilting sites that have FF pages. When they post new ideas or Challenges, etc they show up on my FF page and I don't have to go hunting for them. I'm 67 and I'm not going to let technology get the best of me! LOL.

I very, very rarely post on FF and I have my account settings set so my FF is private and only my family can read any postings.

In response to the question about deleting a FF account, my understanding is that an account can be deactivated but can't be deleted.

I've reconnected with cousins I hadn't seen in years...one of them posted many photos (old ones!) of family that I had not seen before...and the fun part is, I can click on the picture and print it! There are some in my friends list that I am rarely in contact with, and will no doubt 'unfriend' them at some point.

I have seen many, many people at work fired over face book. I got a facebook page when my son was in the Marines. But since then I don't go on. People at work actually hold grudges cause I don't accept friend requests. It sure can take over your life. Well I spend too much time on the quilt board too but it isn't likely to get me fired and make co-workers mad lol
