I would also like to suggest for everyone The Hunger Games and the 2nd Catching Fire and the 3rd will be out in August. Suzanna Collins. These books are "catching fire" everywhere. They are excellent. Not considered thrillers, but excellent reading.

I started out reading Nora Roberts and Danielle Steel but I have lately read James patterson, JD Robb and Patricia Cromwell I have decided I like Patterson and Cromwell better than any other author Some of them are way to graphic for me

I also like Clive Cussler books, especially the Dirt Pitt stories, you've probably seen the movie Sahara with Matthew McConnahey? That was a Clive Cussler book.

Just read the Hunger Games, and then HAD to read Catching Fire. Now I am in suspense until the new one is released!

They are considered YA, I think, but are great reads. Also I've recently become a big fan of Tamora Pierce, who writes YA fantasy. And one other guy, Scott Westerfield, maybe? Uglies is the title of one of his books. Science Fiction.

If you like gritty detective novels, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Kathy Mallory books by Carol O'Connell. The main character is a police detective who is a functional sociopath.

I've read just about all the authors that have been mention. Here's a few more of my favs. David Baldacci, Greg Iles, C.J.Box and Iris Johansen. These are all mysteries. When I read the Janet Evanavich books I laugh so hard that I have to reread it to my DH. My DD is waiting for her newest book to come out.

I thoroughly enjoy Terri Blackstock's books. She writes wonderful sequels (usually four to a series). She sold millions of books under another name before deciding to focus more on Christian themes. The last series I read is the Restoration series, which was based on an event that knocked out all electricity, and a family's challenges to get through the event. It was a real page turner. Our local library has several Blackstock series.

I agree with all of James Pattersons books. When you pick up one of books, before you buy it, look inside where the listing of all the books he has written are listed. And start with the very first one he wrote in a series,. He is very, very, VERY good. I have the very latest Robb book. I have read everyone in order,. She also has a wide rhelm of topics under Nora Robb. I am basically just interest in the mystery and myhem stuff.

But if anyone wants to read some power books.. It's Carol O'Conner... She writes the Mallory Series.. you have to start with the very, very first one or you get lost. But she does have one that stands alone and I have read it three times and it's still a shocker for me. Try to find "The Judas Child" by Carol O'Conner. This has been one of the most powerful mystery books I have ever read. And I can read a book in two days if I'm hooked and I have no other plans for the day.
