As we Silver Surfers know, sometimes we have trouble with our computers.
I had a problem yesterday, so I called Eric, the 11 year old next door, whose bedroom looks like Mission Control and asked him to come over. Eric clicked a couple of buttons and solved the problem. As he was walking away, I called after him, 'So, what was wrong? He replied, 'It was an ID ten T error.' I didn't want to appear stupid, but nonetheless inquired, 'An, ID ten T error? What's that? In case I need to fix it again.' Eric grinned.... 'Haven't you ever heard of an ID ten T error before? 'No,' I replied. 'Write it down,' he said, 'and I think you'll figure it out.' So I wrote down: ID10T I used to like Eric, the little turd. |

Wish I had a kid like that next door that could fix computer problems. My DH thinks he knows a lot more about computers than he really does. Makes me nervous when he tries to 'fix' things!!

Yep-thats me

ROTF, he is a little too big for his britches but funny as heck.
|
LOL!!!!!! My 19 yr old son it a computer guru these days and I surely feel stupid at times with my computer. I can remember a time when I knew so much more than he did about computers!
To make us all feel better, my BIL had a co-worker call him to fix his computer. When he got there and asked what the problem was, the co-worker stated that his "cup holder" was broken. He pointed to the CD drive!!!! |

I don't even like to ask my grandkids any more. They all know so much more than I - used to be the other way around! But they are really sweet and never make me feel dumb. Sometimes when I call them about a computer problem, I don't understand their explanations so they say, "Don't worry, grandma - I'll come over and fix it".
When I was 11 yrs old, I was jumping rope, playing jacks, riding bikes, roller skating, reading, embroidering pillow cases, learning to bake. I think I've come pretty darn far just to be able to do this much on a computer! Of course, it only took me 60 YEARS ! |
Oh No what about those not so Silver...all a learning experience, used 4 different types of system @ wk and told the other day had no skills, true cut and paste were exciting to laern, but come on. Grrrr ok back off the box.:)
|
I am laughing out loud!
|
My son is a computer geek extraordinaire too!
He told me one time that a problem I was having was the interface between the keyboard and the chair! LOL Thanks son! He is now a computer network security engineer for the state, so maybe he does know what he's talking about!  He also did tech support over the phone, he quit telling people to press any key, because they couldn't find it!! He started telling them to press the spacebar (or whatever key struck his fancy that day!). ;-) |
Thanks for sharing, i will laugh the rest of the day. I feel like that sometimes too.
|
My brother is my computer geek only he lives too far away. Sometimes if he has time we do it over the phone.
I had a friend that needed something done on her computer. Since my brother wasn't around she called the Geek Squad . The guy sold her a bunch of stuff she didn't need and he had the nerve to tell her that my brother didn't know what he was talking about. I just told her you better hope he knows what he is talking about he was the one in the Navy who kept the computer on the subs working before he retired. |
Finally a way to tell my husband what is wrong with his computer!!!! He cannot for the life of him work his computer and he works on them all day. sometimes I wonder how he makes it through the day. Gotta love that guy!
