This is a continuation of the weight loss thread.

I put the date first so it would be easier to "search".

On June 1 weigh yourself and write it down. Do NOT send it to me. On June 30 weigh yourself again and PM me with your loss. This is weight lost not % lost. I will announce the winner July 1.

You can not win 2 months in a row.

Chit chat is allowed, as well as WAYWO, (what are we working on). Please stay positive and uplifting as that is what keeps us on track. Come to this thread for tips, recipes, encouragement and {{{{HUGS}}}}}}

The prize is a themed FQ. At the end of the month the people who didn't lose as much weight will contact the BIGGEST loser/winner for their information and sent them the themed FQ.

June is for weddings and brides. This month's theme is WHITE ON WHITES OR CREAM OR NEUTRALS. As always if you can not send the theme fabric please send what you have. If you don't have an FQ, send a linear 1/4 yard.

Eat healthy, exercise, try and lose weight but most of all have fun!!!!!!!!!!!

Sign up deadline to be included in the Prize Venture is June 3 at 9 a.m. CST. You can always contribute to the thread, but it is only fair to have a cutoff for those trying to win.

TO PARTICIPATE, JUST SIGN IN HERE ON THIS THREAD BEFORE JUNE 3. THERE IS NO NEED TO PM FOR PARTICIPATION, JUST YOUR ENDING WEIGHT LOSS FOR THE MONTH.

Thusnelda 05-31-2011 12:06 AM

Could I also participate from Europe? I'm prepared to send my fat quarter overseas, but would everybody else be in case I actually won?

Hmm, the winner will indeed be a double winner: enjoying the good feeling of having lost weight and having new fabric to work with.

purplemem 05-31-2011 12:08 AM

Yes, you can participate. If you win, I'll have everyone send the FQ to me and I'll put it all in one box to mail. Not as fun as getting one just about every day of the month, but satisfying none the less.

Welcome aboard! Where are you in Europe?

Little RoO 05-31-2011 12:09 AM

I also fancy giving this ago....might be just the incentive I need...also over the pond in UK....happy to send

Thusnelda 05-31-2011 12:16 AM

I'm in Switzerland and I'm happy to participate. Maybe that's just the additional incentive needed. Though, usually if I put myself under pressure regarding loosing weight, it backfires. But maybe it's the same as with everything else - if you fail, try again! :)

purplemem 05-31-2011 12:19 AM

My weight loss has been in inches and dribbles, but for 8 months I have not gained...and lost 40 lbs now.

Today's thought:

We do not change until the pain we feel in the present circumstance is greater than the fear of change in the future. How much do you have to hurt to be ready to change?

JHolm 05-31-2011 02:26 AM

I'm in for June! Welcome to our friends from over the ocean. Good luck everyone.

Thanks MJ for doing this again. You do a wonderful job and are deeply appreciated.

Painiacs 05-31-2011 02:33 AM

4o lbs !!! Thats terrifIc!! How'd u do it ??

nancia 05-31-2011 02:44 AM

i'm in! if everyone is willing to contribute to the cost of a round trip ticket, i'm willing to carry the fabric across the pond if they win. LOL ;). of course, i'd almost rather win myself. tee hee hee!

gotchacovered 05-31-2011 03:56 AM

I'm starting this month too. Good Luck everyone. It's such a great site to be part of.

deedum 05-31-2011 04:04 AM

One day at a time, one choice at a time.
1200-1600 calories a day. 4 bottles of water each day.
Strength from this group.
One step after another.

deedee75 05-31-2011 04:20 AM

I'll up for joining again. Don't really care if I win, but I do need the extra encouragement to lose.

ljs317 05-31-2011 04:53 AM

Hi! Everyone.
I'm in for this month!

Lisa

Thusnelda 05-31-2011 05:15 AM

This is really motivating. I have a sports weekend the last weekend of June and I was already trying to lose some weight until then, in order to be fitter. This extra motivation might just do the trick.

Thank you for this idea.

dash2000lbs 05-31-2011 05:35 AM

Count me in ....

nancia 05-31-2011 05:36 AM

thusnelda-- if i lived where you live i would be blissing out on your chocolate every day! how do you resist it?

nancia 05-31-2011 05:53 AM

mj-i went to the fitness site, but i don't understand how to get the status bar under my name (the one that tracks the weight loss) can someone help me, please? i warn you i am incredibly intimidated by computer functions.:(

I'm actually not that fond of chocolate - so this temptation is luckily not that dangerous. But I'm generally very fond of eating, I quite like cooking and have a boyfriend who is a divine cook, so I don't need single temptations to get me into trouble. :)

But I did it once, so I will do it again and this is the right time. I lost 44 pounds (hope I did the conversion correctly) a couple of years ago without going on a diet, simply by eating healthy and doing loads of sports. Unfortunately, I had some health problems which prevented me from continuing with my sports program and now the pounds have "mysteriously" reappeared. But I'm back on track now.

trkrsyf 05-31-2011 06:25 AM

I have been waiting patiently for June 1 and now I get to enjoy all the support and encouragement this group lovingly gives. I also need someone to be accountable to, because otherwise I procrastinate. So here goes, count me in! Oh, by the way, the fat quarters are icing on the cake.

trkrsyf 05-31-2011 06:26 AM

I have been wondering the same thing. I'd like to know as well on how to get the weight loss meter attached to my messages.

NannySandy 05-31-2011 06:37 AM

Im in again. Welcome to all the newbies. Good luck everyone. Sandy

As you can see, I figured it out.

irishrose 05-31-2011 07:00 AM

I'm in and I'm a chocolaholic.

trkrsyf 05-31-2011 07:59 AM

Has anyone here ever heard or read the book Dr. Abravanel's Body Type Diet and Lifetime Nutrition Plan?

I'm in also, and I adore chocolate - I've actually planned out days where I save up Weight watcher points to include chocolate. :-D

Rita's mom 05-31-2011 08:26 AM

I'm in again, can't quit now I still have a long way to go!May didn't go as well as it should have, too many birthdays and dinners, and letting myself slack off!....oh and WAY too many conversations with myself about wanting to eat stuff I don't need! But my goal for June is to get back on track and quit looking for an excuse to slack off! and this month I am going to seriously add some kind of real exercise. I hate it but I know that is the next step that I have to do. I should of done it from the start but didn't so that is my main focus starting this month.

Glad to see all of the new people joining. This is a good place for encouragement!:)

Oh I almost forgot, Sandy and I had a conversation about how much I HATE having my picture taken and avoid it at all costs. Well after a baby shower for my niece we were taking pictures of our four girls together and some dumb person in the crowd....oh ya it was my MIL! LOL, dcided to take pictures of each family. Grrrr.... Someone took some on my camera and even though I hate the picture I could see my weight loss! Still hate the pictures but I can see that I have lost weight so that part was good. I know it is hard to get started and sometimes hard to stay motivated but you start getting little rewards along the way. I am going to start writing the rewards down so when I feel like slacking off I can go read what what the good things to come from this have been and stay motivated. I think it is too easy to forget the good things when we need motivation to keep going so I am keeping a journal type book of all my thoughts and reasons for doing this. There are some posts on earlier months about this, a couple of ladies on here came up with the idea and I think it really helps.

Radiana 05-31-2011 08:41 AM

I'm in and very serious about it this time. I'm afraid to even weigh myself because I know I've put on weight in the last two weeks. I know it's going to freak me out when I do but I've got to face reality.

I'll be taking a new approach this time.........I'll stay focused on all the healthy delicious foods I can enjoy and not worry about the junk I shouldn't be eating.

Leann 05-31-2011 08:51 AM

Looking forward to the new month. Not sure if I'm participating or not. I will miss everyone too much.

But I am at least officially marking my spot to lurk.

This group is contagious.

scrapngmom 05-31-2011 08:53 AM

I'm back for the month of June. Can't wait to find out who won for May. I don't have any pastel fat quarters, can I send another color without getting into trouble?

karen

irishrose 05-31-2011 09:21 AM

Rita's mom, Blue dog would love to go for a walk every day. You can vary the intensity to get a better workout - a short stint of intense walking (very short for me) alternated with regular walking. Research showed that that mode of walking burned more calories than just brisk walking. Go figure.

lauriejo 05-31-2011 10:19 AM

I know I don't post very often, but I'm back in for June. I've got a family reunion coming in July and I would really like to fit in my nice shorts by then.

MJ, I think this is a great idea regardless of where the winner lives. It would push people like me to get my FQ in the mail cuz I know you would be watching.

I have sent all 4 of my FQs since joining, altho Sandy's is the only one I sent in a timely manner.

We could send you stamps or FQs to help you with postage.

skaduzy 05-31-2011 11:53 AM

Sign me up for June. Maybe it will be hot and sunny and then I won't want to eat!

Yes,it is proof,it CAN be done with out pills,or surgery.Even 2 or 3 pounds a month is good,as long as I keep it off,is all I care about.I know lots of people who lose weight, but they never keep it off,and gain it all back and then some. So,my focus has been small chunks at a time, {5 pounds at a time} and keeping it off,no matter how or what I have to do or cut back to do it.And it's working.Let's go for the 1st 5 pounds this month of the new weight loss challenge. In fact I'm challenging ALL you on here to a 5 pound dual!GOOD LUCK EVERYONE.And welcome to all our new weight loss losers.Together we can do it.
