I'm making mug rugs, and love it. However, when I give them, people study them for a minute and then ask if it is a really small placemat! So, I'm thinking..."dammit dolls" have a little peom explaining their usefulness, so why not Mug Rugs...does anyone know of such a thing? (If not, maybe we should all pool our smarts and come up with one!)

Just off the top of my head:
Hope you enjoy this little rug. It's meant to fit a cup or a mug. So when you're having your coffe or tea, I hope you'll smile and think of me. |
Really, before joining this forum, I had never heard of a Mug Rug either!! Has anyone else?
Place mats, yes, Mug Rugs no, even though it's a good idea, especially since I have a glass table. |
No, I had never heard of a mug rug, either! But I like them and the little poem Carol wrote sounds good to me.

I gave mug rugs as individual gifts at a ladies luncheon I hosted on May. Yup - everyone looked at them like "Huh?". Even though I placed them on the beverage table & had a beverage glass sitting on each one. I tried explaining what they were & kept getting the Huh? look - so I finally said they were coasters on steroids. Huh? to Aha! in seconds. So much for class & finesse.

They might understand 'washable coaster'.
Mug Rug is much nicer than a folded washcloth. |
