I'm going to try this as soon as we are able to get out so I can locate my clay pots.

We have all electric heat so this past summer, my DH had a small propane heater put in our family room. It can heat our family room, bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. We close off the rest of the house if we have a power outage. The propane tank holds 100 gal/pounds? and we only use it when necessary and it is very inexpensive. It's a great alternative for us. Also, my DS was just telling use yesterday about the clay pot heater he read about on the web! Small world! :)))

Here's the link to making the heater with clay terra cotta flower pots and tea light candles. Hope it works, really so sorry for all who were burdened with the terrible cold and no power. Two of our nieces were, one in OH and the other in southern IN.
