kitchen aid classic food mixer
 

My DH has asked if I would like this food mixer for Christmas. Would I ????????????? WOW !! I am happy with the smallest one - as I don't cater for large numbers - but would appreciate any reviews from anyone who has this mixer ?

I LOVE my mixer. My mom got it for me years ago for Christmas. I use it a lot. She got hers when they first came out and it is still a work-horse. I bought one for my 16yo niece last year because she wanted to make cookies and not have to struggle mixing the dough. I would go for it.

I love my kitchen aid stand mixer. Basic model, white, but does everything I ask it to. Enjoy!!

I LOVE my mixer! I use it at least once a week to make bread. It never leaves the counter top. I'm so glad I finally bought it.

Love my Kitchen Aid mixer. About 20 years ago my husband wanted one for Christmas, my answer, what do we need something like that for??? But I did get it for him. Forward to now...what in heaven's name did I ever do before the Kitchen Aid. Notice it was for him, but I'm the one who uses it the most. Hehehe

I love mine, too. It's heavy to move from the corner under the cabinet out towards the edge of the counter, so I put a quilted mat underneath it. If you do that, just be careful that it doesn't move about if you're doing something like bread dough.

It's a one time buy for sure! I've noticed some great prices on them this year. Brad's Deals always posts the best price for the Kitchen Aid. Just be sure and get the higest watt motor. A low watt motor won't be very powerful for using the accessories that you can get for it. I would like to have one of the pretty color ones. No color choice when I got mine years ago.

I love mine. Couldn't do without it.

I have had mine for at least 30 years and it still is kicking. It is a work horse. One way or another each of my five kids have one in their kitchens and they love them.

I have used mine for over 40years withiu a problem.

I only have a small mixer. I stir bread and cookie dough the old fashioned way.

I love mine. Have had it 11 years now. I do have the 4.5 quart size. My husband got it for me for Christmas way back when and have used it since. It is heavy so we leave it on the counter but I got rid of my hand mixer and bought several attachments. I like the grater - a hole pound of cheese in less than a minute. Also have the grinder, because I can apple sauce and we like it very fine, no lumps. They come with the standard mixing beater, the bread hook and a whip. If you make merengue or whipped cream - you have to be careful because it beats so fast you could end up with butter.

Love, love, love mine. I've had it for a number of yrs and its still going strong. Last yr when my daughter moved out I asked her if she wanted it (because I needed a reason to buy a newer one in color) she said no. This yr trying to make homemade cookies and cakes and she has decided she really did need one. I can't afford one now so I told her she could borrow mine once I was done but its so funny how she did a turn about. I've tried others but none have stood up like this one. By the way, did I tell you how I really love mine.

My grandmother told me the old fashioned way was just a pretty way to say the hardest way ever to do anything.

Love it! Have used it for years and wouldn't change. Gave one to my niece for her wedding shower 17 years ago and hers if going strong--she makes wedding cakes and frostings and everything. Go for it. You'll wonder how you lived without it. And the whipped cream is delish!

I want one so bad too. I don't have the counter space or cabinet space to keep one.

When I got married in 1956 my dad told momma to buy me the current modle of this mixer. It cost $65 which was about a weeks pay at that time. Momma had one of them too. We both used them up. My husband bought me a new blue one about 15 years ago. Then I found a red one at a garage sale for $50. I bought it of course. I love those mixers. All of my daughters have one. You just can't beat them. The originals we had were still working when my DH bought me the blue one. I finally donated them to Goodwill. Hated to let them go but they were just taking up space. Hope someone got a bit more from them.

Mine is '70s yellow because that's when I bought it! My bet is the newer ones have stronger motors than mine, but mine still does everything I need it to just fine.

If I were to buy a new one, I'd get the bigger one where you raise and lower the bowl. Mine has the head that raises and lowers, and I would just like to have more room when I am adding flour. (I don't recommend getting the plastic shield they used to sell for flour; I prefer wrapping a kitchen towel around the mixer and bowl.)

i love mine. the only thing i don't like is that it's difficult to dump more flour in while the machine is running.

I have one too and love it !! I have to admit I did just go buy a small hand mixer for quickie jobs, since the Kitchen Aid is so heavy but don't have a single complaint on it. Got it off Craigslist for $100 and it was like new and had all the attachments. Go for it!!

I bought mine in 1965. It's still going strong.

It went with us to Germany in the early 70s. It went with us to Austria where it ran on a transformer for 21 years.

It has its own spot of honor on the counter top.

By all means go for it. Mine is over 40 years old, never a problem with it --- providing you don't count the time my 10 year old DD got her waist long red hair in it --- the mixer did ok, her head not so much. Lesson learned --- always pull your hair back before using the machine.

I love mine, They are so strong you could mix cement with it. I have all those goodie attachments. I can wash the apples and cut them up with stems and skin and cook them a little and then put them in this attachment thingie and all the skin and stuff comes out one bowl and applesauce comes out the other. You can add Sugar and Cinnamon if you like or make apple butter. You can do this with alot of stuff. I have the pasta maker and made fabulous homemade noodles. I have made at least 25 dozen cookies in the last few weeks and the mixer helps alot. Creams the sugar and butter so good.

I have one too. I have had it for so long, it is green, that should tell you. I mix cookies, I grind my own hamburger meat also. Get a good chuck roast and have no bones in it. Ever get what you thought was a bone in your hamburger? Hmmm?

I love mine. Sure, I wish I had a lime green one. But I am really happy with my plain old white one. Get it and you will never regret it:)

I looooove. Mine i have had mine for 38 years wouldnt part with it for anything. They are the greatest!!!!!!!!!!!!

you can buy a bowl attachment to make that easier.
i don't have one, but if i used my mixer a lot, i think it would be worth the investment.

P.S. mine is at least 30 years old. sat in my dad's basement for a very long time. probably at least 20 years. i brought it home, cleaned it up, fired it up, and it works like i took it out of the box yesterday. :)

My six quart Kitchen Aid is 50 years old(it was on our farm in Mom's kitchen). All we have had to replace is the cord. After year's of use and teaching 4-H cooking classes, the cord couldn't take it any more. It is worth every penny, even if you don't cook for a large group.

Wouldn't be without mine but make sure you have counter space for it. It is quite heavy & you won't want to haul it out from somewhere other than your counter to use it. The only drawback that I have seen is they are not made quite the same as the older models. The newer beaters (for bread etc.) are not coated as the ones in the past have been. The regular wire beaters are the same though. Like with so many other things, "you get what you pay for".

I'm on my second one. I gave my son (who is a chef) my first one and I got my second which had a larger bowl. I love mine and use it all the time.

Yes, yes, yes!! You will love it! I had my first one for about 20 years. I put it through the wringer, believe me! I then moved up to the professional model, but recently gave it to my daughter because I really didn't care for the non tilting head and now that all my children are married and are taking over the holiday cooking and baking, I don't really need it. I am now trying to decide which color I want or if I should just go back to my classic. I have just discovered the King Arthur Flour website and I am thinking of bread making so I am definitely getting a new Kitchen Aid. Enjoy it!!

I got mine at the end of '08 when we remodeled our kitchen and I had space for it. DH said if you're going to get one, get the biggest so you can use the attatchments. So he purchased from Amazon on one of their super deals the Professional 600. Limited colors for the special so I got the matte black. I have black appliances so it was perfect. He got the grinder attatchment and later the ice cream maker. I love them, they work extremely well. I probably don't use mine as much as I thought I would, but i will dust it off and use it tomorrow when I bake cookies.

My Kitchen Aid mixer has been on my counter since 1978! It has lived through 5 moves and continues to work hard. I look at the gorgeous red models and then wonder why I'd ever give up my workhorse. Never any repairs to this one. We bought the extra paddle with the silicone that's supposed to reach into the bottom and corners better, but could have skipped that purchase. It's a sturdy mixer. :-)

I have had one for over 40 years. I had the4.5 and now i have the six quart. I gave one to my four daughters for shower gifts. I also have the 12 quart by Hobart who makes kitchen aid (or used to) it is my most valuable kitchen too,don't hesitate on buying one. You wont regret it

I got mine a year ago and got the highest wattage (per The Hubs' instructions) and haven't looked back since...yes it's heavy to lift up and out of cabinet but I love mine and very happy I got it!!

Bought mine from the Kitchen Aid store a few years back in dark red and love it. I have the slightly more powered one than what shows up in our local stores, as I do bread and heavy doughs as well as grind venison for sausage. Absolutely would recommend getting one!

I love my kitchenaide Mixes. I bought one in 1981 and it still works great. Then a few years ago I thought I needed a bigger one. I am not as happy with it since you can't tilt the head back but instead lower the bowl so guess what, I am back to using my 1981 mixer and use the bigger one when I really need the power. Wonderful machines and I would highly recommend them.

Love mine and its attachments; I finally gave mine to dd and brought the professional model. DD wanted the attachments, so I had to replace those too. Was given another top brand mixer, but it sits idle while I always use the Kitchen Aid. Yes, its old and so am I!! Loved the first one better than the Pro model.
