I can't believe I'm the only one who mentioned Jon Hamm (Don Draper on Mad Men) He's super hot!

JustAbitCrazy 07-31-2018 05:48 AM

I forgot Bruce Willis. I saw him many years ago when he was filming a night scene for a movie in Monessen, PA.

SusieQOH 07-31-2018 05:56 AM

Oh yeah, another Bruce!! ( I chose Springsteen but Willis is good!) :D

Jingle 07-31-2018 04:00 PM

Thank you SusieQOH, you do know me so well.

I agree with you on Dean Martin. Frank Sinatra got a lot of good songs, good lyrics. Not a fan of his singing. He could not hold a candle to Dino.

Jingle, Really, isn't that the truth? Dino had such a mellow voice. Simply wonderful! My Mom, Gram, all of us loved him! Not so much Sinatra.
And now you really know me- I'm still boy crazy!! :D

So glad to see I'm not the only one with this opinion! Dean Martin's voice was so smooth, and his singing seemed absolutely effortless. I loved listening to him. Frank Sinatra, on the other hand, always seemed to me to be reciting the lyrics to songs instead of singing them. I never understood what all the hullabaloo was over his voice. I just never heard quality there. But---To each his own, right?

SusieQOH 08-01-2018 02:56 AM

JustAbitCrazy- yes, to each his own, of course. But you are so right. For Dean it seemed as effortless as breathing. I appreciate the legacy of Sinatra for sure but as far as singing, Dino was the best. And when he sings in Italian I go wild!

SusieQOH 08-01-2018 02:59 AM

I just thought of another- although he most certainly seems the typical "bad boy"- Sean Penn. I saw him on the news lately and he looks pretty rough. But I used to think he was a hottie, in a weird way.

leaha 08-01-2018 01:39 PM

my first was James Dean,

GingerK 08-01-2018 02:46 PM

Ahhhh Elvis!!--like when I was 9 or 10. But I was predisposed to fall for him. My older sister absolutely adored him!
Richard Gere--who says grey hair isn't sexy.
Sam Elliot--if he and Sean Connery just took turns whispering the phone book into my ear, I'd be happy for life!!
Davy Jones of the Monkees, most of the Beatles, All of the Eagles (but more about that later), Tom Jones (Ohh Delilah) to name a few musicians.
Tom Skerrit--loved him in Picket Fences.
Will Smith--the actor part of him not so much the rapper.
Christopher Atkins--in The Pirate Movie around about the mid 80's. OMG those blonde curls!!
Patrick Stewart, Jonathan Frakes, Lavar Burton, Leonard Nimoy, Avery Brooks (Sisco DS9), Alexander Siddig (Bashir- ds9), Michael Dorn, Colm Meaney ...yeah I'm a trekkie too...And even William Shatner--the older version not the Star Trek captain.
Richard Dean Anderson and Christopher Judge from Stargate
Brendan Frazer--from The Mummy movies.
Oh dear I think I may have a problem.....
But to finish this much to long list, we went to an Eagles concert a couple of weeks ago and I have to say that, as well as filling his father's shoes instrumentally and vocally, Deacon Frye is extremely easy on the eyes!

SusieQOH 08-01-2018 02:57 PM

Ginger K- wow, what a list!!!!!!!
I'm afraid Elvis never appealed to me and I don't think I realized how important he was in music until long after he was gone. I was little when he was popular but he left quite a legacy. My only memories of him are that I felt sorry for him. Maybe I read too much about how troubled he was. Not sure.

lynnie 08-01-2018 03:47 PM

Pierce Brosnan (007)
The father on the show,"The Nanny" I think Charles O'Shaunesee
I never went ga ga over anyone, I just think those men are good looking.
I wouldn't look twice at them thugh. My dh is the best. I waited a long tome
for him to come along. Total opposite of my ex. He is the kindest, most gentle
man alive. He loves me with all of my faults. I know he'd never look twice at
another woman.I know what I have in him, and wouldn't risk it for anything

Now when I was in 5th grade, Andrew gave me what I joked I wanted for Christmas.
I told him purple snow as a joke. On Christmas morning, he came over and spraypainted my entire law purple.
I had the prettiest snow on the block. now he was a keeper too.

SusieQOH 08-02-2018 03:37 AM

Since this thread is still here I thought I'd set the record straight- there is no evidence that Christopher Plummer is gay. Zozee and I both look it up and it appears he acted in something as a gay man but that's all we found :)

Lynnie- I'm so happy for you. You deserve the best!

Onebyone 08-02-2018 06:01 AM

My DH has been told many times he looks like Sam Elliot. He is tall, lanky and has the thick white hair with mustache. I use to chuckle when he would take the trash out. I would think I know how Sam Elliot may look when he does that. LOL

joyce blint 08-02-2018 06:33 AM

Harrison Ford and Clint Eastwood back in the day!

bearisgray 08-02-2018 09:17 AM

My DH looks at other women and girls - and comments on them - as long as that's all he does, he will "survive" -

I admit - I also "look" - nice looking is nice looking. I think it's okay to admire beauty.

I also think most of the men listed are attractive.

I had forgotten about some of those listed - and some I do not recognize.

A few that do not turn me on -

Leonardo diCaprio
Derek Hough
Keith Urban
Ringo Starr (although I think the drummer is usually the sexiest member of any band!)
Dan Blocker (from Bonanza - but I think he was a nice man and his character was nice on the show)
Johnny Depp
Sean Penn
Prince Charles and Prince William (of England)
Howie Mandell

But those are not what this list is about.

I was also disappointed when I saw Tom Selleck doing the reverse mortgage commercials.

I thought "the Marlborough Man" was gorgeous - in the ads, anyway.

Tom Jones did turn me on when he was younger - and I was younger - and then I read more about him - - -

SusieQOH 08-02-2018 11:38 AM

Bear, glad to know your husband will still be among us :D

I love Princes Harry and William but not in a sexy way. I think it's because I loved their Mom and like Prince Charles. I'm a real Royal nut.
Your list is the same as mine (the reverse of men we like) except for Sean Penn. Something about him always was attractive to me in a bad way :D The role he played in Dead Man Walking, well, he acted too well in it! That was creepy.
Tom Jones always and I mean always turned me off. I could never understand why women liked him. Clearly I was in the minority.
I'm having trouble seeing my all time crush- Richard Gere- with the grey/white hair. My sis told me I'm crazy. She said he looks even better!
I appreciate everyone playing along with me. It was fun!!!!!!
Now back to real life lol

Onebyone- that's hilarious! Sounds like you landed a good looking guy! :)
Doesn't he still take out the trash?????

OK, now we have similar tastes in men. I will add that there was this guy on a Coke commercial that had his shirt off and was drinking a cola while women at work were looking at him out of windows. And now just to prove there is something wrong with me-there is just something about Sipowitz from NYPD.

pennycandy 08-02-2018 05:31 PM

Lucky (yes that is his real name) Vanous is the shirtless guy in the Coke commercial.

Sleepy Hollow 08-02-2018 08:16 PM

Denzel Washington has been mentioned, and he has always been on my handsome man list as well...

Another good looking man I forgot earlier is Shemar Moore.

SusieQOH 08-03-2018 04:20 AM

For some reason the Yankees land a lot of good looking guys. That's my favorite team so I watch them all season.
Alex Rodriguez is now retired but he is a commentator on ESPN. Wearing a suit magnifies his already good looks.
He has the greenist eyes. Wow!!!!!!!

And Andy Pettitte, now retired, is a knock-out! My sister calls him a Greek god lol

My, oh my INDEED!!! DITTO to everything you said! He's not just great looking, he's the whole package!

In my younger years it was Bobby Sherman and Len Whiting (Romeo and Juliet). My adult man crushes (other than Mike Rowe :D )
Cary Grant
Alan Autry (that Bubba was HOT!)
John Stamos (Have mercy! :D )

willferg 08-10-2018 09:23 AM

Yes, Alan Autry as Bubba was definitely hot!

Patrick Stewart is another fave, and I love Hugh Laurie as House.

Liked Scott Baio as a teen but don't have such a high opinion of him now...

SusieQOH 08-10-2018 12:45 PM

I never even heard of Alan Autry- others have mentioned him.
Scott Baio was so cute on Happy Days.

He played a policeman - Bubba Skinner on In the Heat of the Night.

He also played Mayor Gainey on Hart of Dixie.

recycler 08-10-2018 06:40 PM

Ok, hands down, Antonio Banderas, then Johnny Depp. My husband even enables my addiction for pointing out movies with them in them. Of course, they also normally have a gorgeous counterpart, so I think there may be method to his madness! Lol!

SusieQOH 08-11-2018 05:05 AM

Oh yeah! Nobody mentioned Antonia Banderas until you did. I use to love Andy Garcia too. He's not looking too good these days :)

I only know Scott Baio from Happy Days. He was cute!

I also looked up Alan Autry and still don't recognize him.
