So the boys are still hanging out at Fisherman's Wharf? It's been a couple of years since we lived in the SF Bay Area, but I remember when the boys started hanging out on the docks. The marine specialists were thinking that the young males were hanging out there because there wasn't enough room or females at the rookery out on the Farallons.

My friend had an Italian Deli b4 she passed and I never got her recipe........my son Loved hers and she only made it on Fridays.

Best fish we ever had was some my DH's nephew had just caught off the San Diego coast.......Delicious!

I would, but Dad never had a recipe he went by. Dad's cooking was done all by taste I guess is how one would describe it.

I do remember it had big pieces of white fish, like cod. Also in the pot was shrimp, tomatoes, zucchini, onion, carrots and potatoes.
He simmered the fish carcass with celery, onions and a few spices. After that was done and strained he added tomato sauce and some tomato paste and let that simmer. Then went in the fresh veggies to simmer until tender and finally all the seafood. This took most of the day to make.

My father never used a cookbook, and never used measuring spoons on dry ingredients such as salt and other spices. I do the same sometimes :) because this is how I was taught to cook.
