As I was drinking my morning coffee on my back porch, watching the sun come up, I got to thinking of how much pleasure that brings to me. What are some of the little things in life that bring you pleasure? Here are some of mine:

hearing the birds sing and watching them at the feeder and birdbath
being with my grandsons
clean windows
a beautiful day (no matter the season)
a pair of jeans that actually fit
comfortable shoes
finishing a project (quilting or other)
reading a good book
having a little time during the day for myself
sending off a box of handmade items to charity

There must be more, but I've got to get to work now!

Let's hear from you!

The little pleasures in life don't cost anything and it's so wonderful to see so many quilters appreciation of the small things. So neat. I love mornings with my coffee cup and listening to the house still sleeping. Hubby snoring, our dog snoring and the cat all curled up sleeping too. Just me talking to God offering prayers for family, friends, the mess in the Gulf and there is so much to be thankful for like this quilting board.

Aurora 06-04-2010 04:48 PM

Coffee outside at sunrise, listening to the birds awaken
That first morning stretch that makes me moan with pleasure

I have worked hard all my life and enjoy every breathe I take and most of the things I do give me great pleasure.
