Ramona Byrd 03-04-2011 01:07 PM

Wow, never saw a BLUE orchid before, didn't know they had them.
Wish my late nurseryman DH could have seen one, he often dreamed of a real blue Rose. Wonder if this was a gene splice, marvelous color. Now for that true blue rose!!

PegD 03-04-2011 01:08 PM

My favorite color. Beautiful and so thoughtful.

Reminds me of my recent trip to Longwood Gardens for the Orchid show. I didn't see any blue orchids there, though, it must be dyed.

I did see this

Beautiful!! I got an orchid this week from someone too..one of the doctors I work with gave me one for helping her get a long overdue reimbursement for a conference. She is so sweet.

I've never seen a blue orchid...did they dye it?

I think they must have used the old dye the water trick to get that blue!! :-)

I don't know what they did. My first thought was its dyed but there is A tag in it say Blue Mystique.
web site www.silvervase.com --- I have about 18 others all in bloom differant colors but this also is the first blue one I have ever seen.

HummerGardenCrafts 03-04-2011 03:31 PM

All of the orchids are just beautiful. I would love to try to raise some. I've never seen a blue one before.

scrappy happy 03-04-2011 03:32 PM

that is so pretty , aaa what a nice guy.

mtspools 03-04-2011 03:33 PM

Thanks to all. If you want to raise one go for it they are very easy to grow. I have better luck with the ones that have thick wide leave over the ones with thin narrow leaves.

Connie in CO 03-04-2011 03:34 PM

Beautiful just beautiful

cjr 03-04-2011 03:36 PM

Ditter43 03-04-2011 04:08 PM

What a beautiful color!!! :D

Blue Bell 03-04-2011 04:23 PM

Beautiful orchid in blue. I have one in pink by the kitchen sink and window. It likes humidity. It has done well, bloomed 3 times last year. I would give it a tiny bit of fertilizer every time I watered it.

dreamer2009 03-04-2011 04:29 PM

lovely!!

Izaquilter 03-04-2011 04:47 PM

Thank you all -- Mine bloom like 2 or 3 times year and flowers last for at least 2 or 3 months

quilter68 03-05-2011 05:30 AM

BEAUTIFUL!

pollym44 03-05-2011 08:26 AM

AHhhhhhhhhhhhh. That is the prettiest thing I've seen in a while!!!!

klgreene 03-05-2011 10:27 AM

If my DH saw that, he'd bring it home. He always brings home plants that are hard to grow. I don't have a green thumg. I'm still trying to keep two Christmas Catus' alive. I love regular catus, but I kill them too....I over water...

DebsShelties 03-05-2011 10:28 AM

Beautiful

IBQUILTIN 03-05-2011 12:22 PM

My children ask me too if I had lost my mind. IT's so much fun.I think because of the comments one gets while doing it.
