I went totake clothes out of the dryer the other day, the phone rang and when I went back this is what I found.

Missysgottohelp 12-10-2010 02:01 PM

That looks like something my Missy would do. But aren't they cute.

Corky 12-10-2010 02:05 PM

One of my cats does that too! We try to keep the dryer door closed because we are so afraid that we won't see her and we'll pop the door closed and turn on the dryer. My cousin lost her cat a few years ago that way. So scary.

Cute, though, aren't they? Funny little critters. If they aren't on my fabric or in my suitcase, they are in any little corner they can find. Don't blame them, looks comfy!

Up North 12-10-2010 02:05 PM

From experience it is not nice when they go round and round!!

QuiltnCowgirl 12-10-2010 02:05 PM

When I was a kid we had a kitten that did that, only Mom didn't know until after she had thrown a new load in & started the dryer. Thump, thump, meoooooooow, thump, thump, meooooooooow!

This is the same kitten that got up under my Mom's hooded salon style hair dryer when she stepped away for something. That one we caught in a cute photo!

Our family has had more laughs telling stories about that poor cat.

Izaquilter 12-10-2010 02:06 PM

OMG good thing you saw her!

sueisallaboutquilts 12-10-2010 02:10 PM

Now doesn't she look cozy?? Hey, comfort is what they are all about :D:D:D:D:D
So cute!!

plainjane 12-10-2010 02:12 PM

My Elmo is always fascinated with the utility room. Once he jumped in behind the HE washer-taller than the old one- and he couldn't jump back out. I had to throw him a life-line of a pair of pants so he could climb up enough so I could grab him. Needless to say, I always keep that door shut now...:)

Chele 12-10-2010 02:12 PM

That's one cozy cat!

Japonica 12-10-2010 02:24 PM

That is one smart kitty!!!

Jim's Gem 12-10-2010 02:37 PM

Good thing you didn't decide to just turn it back on. I had a neighbor lose a cat that way, she didn't know the cat had climbed into the dryer.

Riversong 12-10-2010 02:57 PM

My oldest daughter had a cat that got shut in while they drove off to walmart and it spent 2 hours going around. Poor thing was injured, taken to the vet and nearly died. Its cute, but please be cautious, esp.if you have kids around.

maryb119 12-10-2010 03:11 PM

It's warm in there!! Kitty looks so cozy!

brushandthimble 12-10-2010 03:51 PM

nice warm spot, just what I need.:)

leatheflea 12-10-2010 03:54 PM

Oh gosh a few years back I was living with a friend that had a cat. I dont do cats. Anyway...in the morning before I left for work I opened the dryer to stop the cycle, when I got home I shut the dryer and turned it on as I was vacuuming. When I finished vacuuming the entire house about 30 minutes later I could here thump thump coming from the dryer. Thought one of the kids had put there shoes in the dryer. Wrong it was my roommates cat. For 30 minutes this cat had tumbled in there. SHe was hot and panting. I freaked, called my friend, they laughed, oh she'll be ok. I was gonna call the vet but was afraid I would be charged with animal abuse. It was winter time so I laid her on the back porch to cool off, put a bowl of water beside her. She just laid there, I thought I killed the silly thing. She took off for 3 days she was gone. When she came back her little nose was all dryed out and scaley. I felt just awful. She never came near me again. Never leave your dryer open if you have a cat!

DebinNY 12-10-2010 04:05 PM

AAWWW!!! Your fur baby is beautiful!!!
My kitty would do that too! When I take the clothes out of the dryer & into the basket, she is right there diggin down deep into the pile!
Thanks for sharing!!! :)

Cyn 12-10-2010 05:59 PM

One of mine went around 4 times before I could stop it and get the door open. She was fine and doesn't nap in there anymore- she naps on the clean laundry in the basket!

theoldgraymare 12-10-2010 07:55 PM

Oh good grief... That just reminded me that I have a load of towels to put in the dryer...LOL! And since I hate to leave the dryer running unattended, I'll have to stay up another hour and a half and read more on this board.

karenchi 12-10-2010 08:01 PM

So cute......

CarrieAnne 12-10-2010 08:16 PM

Oh darn! How awful! (hehe)

twospoiledhuskies 12-11-2010 04:21 AM

That's how you got it so fluffy. Hope it was on low heat.
Hee Hee. Very pretty kitty

redkimba 12-11-2010 05:41 AM

I keep my dryer door shut, but when I switch out loads, I make sure to take a nose check & double-check the dryer before I shut it.

pad's 12-11-2010 06:21 AM

cute....that face is defiantly saying "I got here first & don't you dare close that door" !!!!!

nycbgirl 12-11-2010 06:21 AM

My dog likes to sit "in" the laundry basket of clean clothes not the dirty ones. I think it's so cute but hubby HATES it! *shrug*

stevendebbie25 12-11-2010 06:46 AM

When my children where young, I couldn't find my girl, looked everywhere, and the dryer was open, and usually I'd simply use the foot to close it. But something caught my eye, here she had snuggled into the dryer on her warm fresh blankie and fallen asleep. I raised 5 kids, and always looked into dryers before closing them after that.

Recently, I couldn't figure out why no one had called me, everyone in this family calls each other nearly hourly.
My phone was silent for hours. Went to change the laundry around and heard a strange buzz, thought maybe the washer was going out. As I shook clothes to put into the dryer, out dropped my cell phone (we don't have a land line phone), so I was without a phone for many hours. We live in the country, no one home but me, and my husband got worried I fell down stairs or had a heart attack, so called the sheriff to check if I was ok. Glad the family always contacts each other. I still felt pretty stupid, had forgot my phone in my jeans before I washed them, unusual, but I was so muddy from the garden work, I took the jeans off in the laundry rm, and ran upstairs to change. I hate having to find that cell phone, always laying it down somewhere waiting for someone to call so I can hear it and find it.

Haha! that's so cute. Although the "cat in the dryer cycle" stories are pretty scary!!
My cat loves the laundry too!

j 12-11-2010 07:27 AM

That brought back bad memories of what happened to our cat. To this day I never leave the door open and that was about 45 years ago - j

Looks like kitty is green with envy (eyes) with the items inside getting all the warmth. Sweet little kitty.

Wish I could curl up in there with kitty!

tlrnhi 12-11-2010 10:15 AM

She's not only in there to stay warm, she's helping you. You see...you left the door open, so she jumped in to make sure the clothes don't fly out, so she's holding them down for you. That way, you don't have to chase the clothes around the house to get them folded.
Such a good and helpful kitty!

EllenK 12-11-2010 11:39 AM

You gotta love it.

Shemjo 12-11-2010 12:05 PM

My cats like the soft warm cloths as well. So far none has been in the dryer, but it COULD happen.

Kitty sure looks content in her snug warm spot!

sosewcrazy 12-11-2010 12:36 PM

and the look on his/her face says, "I DARE you to try to move me!" What a cutie.

trupeach1 12-11-2010 12:48 PM

Never leave your dry or washing machine open. My friend left her washing machine open throw a load of sheets in and forgot about them. She went back closed the lid and turned it on. Her cat freaked out and jumped on the top. Later Marie went to put the clothes in the dryer and found dead kittens. Her cat had kittens that were less then a week old she put them in the washing machine without Marie realizing it.

TN Donna 12-11-2010 02:58 PM

Just found a nice warm bed.

BettyGee 12-11-2010 03:00 PM

I'm a dog person, but I like cats too. My calendar, a dog a day, said yesterday that a dog will jump up on your bed because he adores you; a cat will jump up on your bed because he adores your bed. They are very independent creatures aren't they? My fur baby, all 85 pounds of him, loves quilting days. He curls up in the sewing room and naps while mom does her thing.

Ileen 12-11-2010 05:14 PM

That is so Cute!!!
