She is Pearl. Guess what she did first thing when DH and DS brought her home?
They let her free and she run to my sewing room and hide underneath my bookshelf.

Is this an indicator she will be a good quilt inspector?

She is very shy and I never had a cat so I guess we'll see how it goes.

I didn't bother her much with the flash. I'll take more pics once she feels more "at home"

How lucky for all of you. Pearl for her new home. And your family for all the gd company she'll provide.

blueangel 07-15-2011 05:24 PM

Sweet kitty.

MawMaw B 07-15-2011 05:25 PM

Sweet kitty! She'll get used to everything. You might want to put a small stuffed animal in her bed. Mine had a doggie Beanie Baby that she would drag around all over the house.

Pearl looks like a gem! Happy for all of you!

Dreameaver 07-15-2011 08:14 PM

Sweet girl. She is made of patches so I am sure she will be a great asset to your quilting. Mine is aadept at holding down material, chasing scissors and seishing tail as close as possible to the needle of machine. She also steals yarn and thinks all quilts are made for her comfort... Congrats on the new member of your family..

Cyn 07-15-2011 08:15 PM

Awesome! lucky for all of you!

BarbaraSue 07-15-2011 08:16 PM

She's beautiful! I'm sure whe will be a big help in the sewing room. Maybe that is where she hung out at her last place so this a comfortable place for her. :)

Very cute. I just got a kitty from the shelter about a week ago. Very tiny baby. At first he cried all the time and hid. Now he seems to be much better and loves to be held. But, still likes quiet time under my sons bed.Still have to post a pic

Kas 07-15-2011 09:03 PM

marshaKay 07-16-2011 05:13 AM

Does she have blue eyes? She may be a Snowshoe. Lucky you.
She's beautiful. Enjoy her.

sewnsewer2 07-16-2011 05:21 AM

Awwww, she's a cutie pie. Let her investigate her new home at her pace and let her come up to you, don't force her by holding her. She will feel more comfortable that way until she settles in her new home.

purrfectquilts 07-16-2011 05:47 AM

She is sweet just really scared. I think you will have lots of fun playing with her and holding her when she gets more comfortable. Good of you to give her a nice home.

merchjag 07-16-2011 06:03 AM

barbo117 07-16-2011 06:14 AM

I second that. Find her a couple of real squishy stuffed animals. That gives her something to cuddle with since she is alone. You might find her a really cuddly blanket and a couple of sleep buddies and put them under your bookshelf. In a few days, pull the blanket out and put it next to the bookcase against the wall. That 'corner' effect will give her a sense of security while letting her observe the activities. I keep a cat bed under the entertainment center in the living room. A really fluffy baby blanket and a couple of floppy stuffies. All of my cats - even my old man - will go in the 'cave' and retreat for a while. It is kind of there place to go and get away from the activity of the house.

Good luck with our beautiful baby. She is a Siamese variation. She will warm up pretty quickly once she knows that she is safe. Fair warning - they are VERY sneaky and snoopy and get into EVERYTHING. My mom's oldest is named Indy because she is 'into everything'. Soon she will have you all trained and you will not know how you got along without her.

grannypat7925 07-16-2011 06:46 AM

What a beautiful fur baby!

Baba71 07-16-2011 07:09 AM

Pearl looks like my KittyKat that I lost last November. She was a real sweetheart of almost 21 years of age. Pearl should give you many years of love and I know you will enjoy her very much. Love those fur babies.

Peaerl is beautiful and lucky to have a new home. Maybe later she may get lonely, and you may want to make a visit to the local animal shelter in your city and adopt a playmate for her. Cats are so much fun when you watching them chasing, and playing with other felines. You say you never had a cat before, you will definitely fall in love with cats when you get to know Pearl.

JSNOMORE 07-16-2011 07:22 AM

very pretty but I need to tell you something.
You don't have cats they have you. And they know it too

donnacollierbess 07-16-2011 07:39 AM
