I believe in alarm systems and cameras. My son has camera's around and in his house and when his next door neighbor was robbed one camera caught the trucks as they came in the driveway and the look out that stood at the end of the driveway. He can access it on his phone or computer from anywhere. Great evidence.

We moved into a very rural area to get away from crime ridden neighborhoods. We do have a couple of dogs but nosey neighbors are also good to have. I have one who watches our house like a hawk. DH wants to get me a small shot gun and some shooting lessons. Maybe that will be my Christmas presant.

I have three "LOUD" dogs, a Remington 12 ga. pump shotgun, a .38 S&W, NRA stickers on my house and car windows and nosy neighbors on all sides. I also keep objects in my car out of sight, just in case. I travel with my gun and have a concealed weapons permit. Have also considered getting an alarm system...jury's still out on that one.

I would suggest a home safe too (make sure it's a good solid one and installed properly, i.e. bolted down with inside hinges). And sometimes there are ways to hide them. We use it for guns/jewelry and important papers because it's also fire safe. I heard on the news this week that the sale of safes is increasing alot.
