Lost ALL my bookmarks!

And, I had so many patterns bookmarked. I tried this morning for over an hour to find a site that I had had marked as my next top, to no avail. Boohoo.

Does anyone know how to get bookmarks back? Or find a history for them?

What browser are you using? Each one stores bookmarks differently. Did you bookmark it using the bookmark thread for this forum?

Depending on what computer you are using and what software is on it, the bookmarks file may still be on your computer; it may be just that the pointer to that file got corrupted.

I'm using Windows 10 and I'm not sure what you mean by the bookmark thread in this forum.

I feel your pain. I was feeling ruthless yesterday so instead of being ruthless about people which brings regrets I scrubbed down all my bookmarks folders. I nearly fainted this morning when I opened the Quilting folder and had just 4 links :)

I used to bookmark but I had so many they were hard to manage. Now I use Pinterest.

This may be an archaic way, but if I want to save something, here or elsewhere...I email it to myself, then I will either print it out and delete the email, or move it from general email to folders for future reference, when I want it, I'll use it then delete...I used to bookmark , but that got so cluttered I couldn't find anything anymore.....I don't use Pinterest for things I want to save. I'm finding I save less and less..

You can bookmarks threads in this forum separately from anything you do with Windows 10. I believe any thread you comment on (including this one) shows up in your bookmarks until you delete it. See the "Quick Links" under the big Quilting Board header? If you click on that, it will show you any threads you have bookmarked (or commented on) in this forum. To bookmark a thread without commenting on it, look for the little "thread tools" header on the righthand side of the line just above where the posts start on the page. If you click on it, it will allow you to "subscribe" to a thread; this will put it in your "Quick Links". You can established different folders in your profile so that when you "subscribe" to a thread, you can subscribe to it in a specific folder of yours. Having different folders makes it much easier to find threads later.

Regarding Windows 10, how are you checking your bookmarks. If you click on the 3 horizontal lines in the upper righthand corner of the window, go to Bookmarks, then go to Bookmark Manager, is there nothing there?

Found the one I was looking for by going back in my history for a week.
Whew!
