Oh-so-funny. To the rest of us that aren't in Minnesota today.

erstan947 01-22-2011 09:07 AM

Now that is serious snow! There is a reason I choose to live in Louisiana:)

Naturalmama 01-22-2011 09:10 AM

Wow! It takes a special stock to survive weather like this!

LOL He grew up on a farm in IOWA! That qualifies you for living in any winter climate! LOL We(in Iowa) get lots of snow and ice most years.

sewwhat85 01-22-2011 09:16 AM

lol

MinnieKat 01-22-2011 09:22 AM

That looks familiar!

CarrieAnne 01-22-2011 09:43 AM

lol!

belmer 01-22-2011 10:17 AM

Looks pretty normal to me, Of course We here in Minnesota are use to it, But I just told hubby the other day... I want to move to a warmer climate, I will never get use to the COLD though!

Willa 01-22-2011 10:17 AM

Looks like if they get anymore snow they might have trouble finding the house.

b.zang 01-22-2011 10:25 AM

I notice the snow on the ground is deeper than the snow on the roof. Nasty business, that shovelling the roof.
I'd be digging out my mailbox sooner, so service isn't interrupted!

scowlkat 01-22-2011 10:46 AM

I think I would have left it lost so the bills couldn't get to me, especially the electric bill!

Kas 01-22-2011 10:57 AM

My little sister is in MN, too. She said she almost got frostbite just holding the screen door open too long! She may or may not have been kidding. LOL

hperttula123 01-22-2011 11:00 AM

You got a little bit more snow than us in Wi. I can see the top of my mailbox. The town just came through the other day and pushed it all back into my front yard. :) Love living in a small town.

frugalfabrics 01-22-2011 12:49 PM

Thank goodness we don't have that much snow...we only have the cold weather with an inch or two of snow.

ragqueen03 01-22-2011 12:59 PM

my sister in law moved to minnesota last year and we were there in june. i loved it - people are so friendly! told hubby we should move there and he said wait til winter and see if you want to. i think i will stay here in ohio after talking to her almost every day and seeing pictures like this!

sandpat 01-23-2011 06:24 AM

Oh yes....I'm a southerner for a reason!!! That just looks like lots of work and very cold work at that!! Ya'll with snow...be careful!

Zephyr 01-23-2011 06:41 AM

Thanksfully we don't have that sort of weather in SE Alabama. There have been a couple of two cat nights though and the birds are skating on the bird bath!

He must be a glutten for punishment - Iowa is bad too lol. So glad he takes it so well. It ooks like he did some pretty hard work just digging out his driveway!!! We had eight inches last week and are expecting 3-5 more today - My DH got me out for about an hour the other day-I dont walk well on regular pavement less alone snow. I was so proud of him for taking time to dig a path and help me to the car!! He actually took all my packages to po and did grocery shopping while I spent time in JoAnns lol Like I really needed more fabric lol He definitely gets a gold star cheryl :-D

Kaye-Kaye 01-23-2011 07:12 AM

Sounds like you have a wonderful guy there!!

drivingsusan 01-23-2011 07:41 AM

What a lot of snow!!!
I really like it here.....to see snow most of the time we have to drive about a half hour away!! Maybe once a year we will get maybe 4 inches!!!

Pat P 01-23-2011 07:48 AM

The people in Minnesota, are not only a hardy group of folks but they surely have some pioneer spirit in them to brave all the snow and cold!

Doesn't that look familiar :)....What makes it more interesting is "our" mailbox in a snow bank and the door is open...it then becomes "Where is my mail" (yes, come spring everyone reading this would be surprised where we find that lost envelope)

Rhonda 01-23-2011 08:21 AM

I'll take Iowa over Minnesota in the winter any time!! We may have deep snow from time to time but rarely that deep. Tho it has been known to happen. I do remember one winter when the snow banks on each side of the highways was higher than a bus. But it isn't usually that bad. I hate the ice storms more as that is when we lose power usually. Snow you can drive on but ice is much more dangerous especially black ice. One winter we had to walk on about 8" of packed snow all winter. I had to walk up town to pay the bills because it was easier than trying to get the car out.

I don't mind driving on the ice here in town but I won't get out on the roads on it.

Ditter43 01-23-2011 08:27 AM

It was 26 here this morning, but NO SNOW!!! My DH said"That's why the Yankees won the war....they are tough"

amandasgramma 01-23-2011 08:34 AM

It's 10 above at the moment in SE Iowa and it is 10:30am here now. I don't know what it got down to but it has been below 0 at night many times lately. Just as long as it isn't 20 below in the day time. I can't wait for spring!!!

craftymatt2 01-23-2011 08:44 AM

OMG and i'm compaining about the weather in Illinois

Abby'smom 01-23-2011 09:23 AM

Love seeing the pix -- don't want any ever -- I can't even deal with pine and oak leaves, so what would I do if we had snow? I'm tired of cold -- 2 times of nights in the upper 20's and days in the high 40's and 50's -- now we are to have a few days in the 60's -- of course, I will complain again when the temp is high 90's or more and the humidity is 80% -- we have 2 seasons, cold and wet and hot and humid with few really pleasant days -- oh well, we could have snow and ice -- people around here can't even drive in the rain -- keep warm!

IBQUILTIN 01-23-2011 10:30 AM

My friend Mailady49 is a delivery person in MN, wonder if she would be able to find that mailbox? lol

Matilda 01-23-2011 11:04 AM

OH WOW! I am glad I live in Michigan!!--Lower Michigan. That is funny though.

Dollysquiltingmom 01-23-2011 11:15 AM

grandme26 01-23-2011 11:31 AM

Nice snowfall, glad it is not here. Please keep it up North!!!!!!

Minnisewta 01-23-2011 11:37 AM

Living in Minnesota is not for sissies. I don't think I could live somewhere that you don't have season changes. That would be way too boring.

wisconsin 01-23-2011 11:42 AM

We have one to match it in Wisconsin

klgreene 01-23-2011 12:21 PM

Looks normal to me, and I miss it.....I lived in Northern MN before I moved to NM. I get excited now when I see snow.
