Love that house. Wish I had that kind of talent.

Very nice. I like it a lot. I would want it bigger but it's fantastic! I've always liked the Yurt homes too.

This is really neat. I can hardly wait to see what their final house will look like.

I also like "unusual" homes....you know the ones, the tree house or the house made out of a plane, etc. That home is lovely. Thanks for sharing.

I love this type of house. If I ever win the lottery, I would build one of these (although just a bit bigger to include a library and a quilting/sewing room).

What an interesting and charming house!

That is so cute and underground houses are very efficient - they stay an even temperature year round. I lived in a community most of my life that encouraged alternative housing - most people I know built their own houses - some are really interesting - most people I know are off-the-grid - meaning they have solar or water wheels and wind generators for power - I lived that way for many years - you get used to it and you can still have all the conveniences without the power bill. There was talk of building straw houses - but I think they are better suited to a dryer area like the desert. Bravo to these people for thinking out of the box.

Where we are we have no permit requirements either; last year we did the garage since that is the most important item, then started on the temporary living quarters that is attached to the garage as well. The only inspection we had was the county assessor come up to measure the garage for tax purposes.

It is the one thing I do like about living in the boonies, but the downside to that is the buildings that should be condemned are not and it makes for a eyesore.
