Just watched the finale of Medium; I taped it since it was the last show. I have a broken heart. It was such a good, clean show and there are so few of them now. Too depressed to work on the quilt......... :-(

Joanie2 01-22-2011 10:03 PM

I loved that show as well. Had it taped and watched it last night. I didn't realize they were ending it. Why is it those shows we like best get cancelled? Is it my taste in shows or what?

sewwhat85 01-22-2011 10:10 PM

i never saw that show

Momma_K 01-23-2011 01:12 AM

I liked it too but wasn't a regular fave. WHY did they cancel it? It was good and clean! They're becoming rare my dear friends...

LadybugPam 01-23-2011 01:30 AM

I love Medium too ... it was so well written and was inspiring.

emsgranny 01-23-2011 02:10 AM

Great show - always seems like they cancel good one - dont know about you guys but I really hate the reality shows - about the only one I watch is The Biggest Loser. Maybe we should send in a pilot for a day in the life of a quilter and fabric addicts. We could combine a bunch of reality shows all rolled into one!! Rehab for fabric addicts, hoarders, clean house and the drama shows for wshen quilting infringes on families daily lives. Like when they may not get dinner at same time every nite (or maybe not at all lol) taking time away from family time. Heck maybe even Dr. Phil lol What do you thik lol cheryl

Momma_K 01-23-2011 02:43 AM

Well now honey I think you just may have something there!! Have your people call my people...we'll do lunch!

Seriously....you're right!! The only one I watch is The Biggest Loser..

EagarBeez 01-23-2011 05:23 AM

I have the episodes recorded. I had no idea ther was not going to be anymore Medium. When was the last show suppose to be. I just recorded a new show Friday

niizh 01-23-2011 05:35 AM

Normally don't post, but I will also miss Medium. As for reality shows, there is not one that I care to watch and those housewife shows are sooooo bad, don't know how they stay on air.

joan_quilts 01-23-2011 05:44 AM

I liked Ghost Whisperer. I didn't like it when they had Jim die and reincarnate him, but before that, it was a really good show. JMO

I don't like reality tv either! Many of the sitcoms are not funny to me, a little bit too much rude or crude. The cop shows are good, but can really make you upset with some of the topics.

I wish there was just some plain old funny or good writing imiginary programs on. Thank goodness for the Halmark chanel! LOL

toomanycats 01-23-2011 05:54 AM

I was kinda shocked when they ended medium. I am confused here. Didn't she die and come back as a ghost last year? I remember seeing her wake and her walking around. Then it came back on another network only to be ended this year? I missed the first half of the season this year. I didn't know how they explained her being dead at the end of last year. No, the networks just can't leave a good clean show alone. We detest the reality shows. Most are so fake and plain stupid. We don't watch much tv anymore.

Maride 01-23-2011 06:39 AM

Personally I dislike shows like that, but I have heard from many people that liked Medium, that they also like The Closer. Totally different, but apparently also well written and clean.

toomanycats 01-23-2011 08:13 AM

Yeah, I had forgotten the closer. We like that show too but I read where it is also ending. A show is usually good the first season or two then it has to be tweaked to make it better and it usually makes it worse or it deviates from the base that it started as. Oh, time for me to go feed the horses and heifers. A couple are getting close to being shut up. Ahhhhh, the joys of calving out in the middle of the night ..... the drama beats any tv show!

Ditter43 01-23-2011 08:16 AM

I also watched the final show last night. I have watched every episode and watched those girls grow up on the show. I loved the family dynamics the show had. I will miss it. They were almost like family..... :-(

lvaughan 01-23-2011 08:23 AM

Didn't really watch Medium, I try to catch all of the Closer episodes, didn't know they will be ending the show. Do you know when it will end?

EagarBeez 01-23-2011 08:39 AM

I liked Ghost Wisperer also, but, didn't care for the part where Jim was reincarnated in someone else's body, but, overall, I never missed an episode

cathyvv 01-23-2011 08:42 AM

Yeah, I was surprised by Medium finale. It was a fun show, very family oriented, dealt with moral issues in a real world way.

But it was on a long time. Maybe the writers and actors got tired of doing the show.

We can probably buy a box set of each season and watch it whenever we want!

nativetexan 01-23-2011 08:48 AM

well i missed it! rats. oh well.
re: Ghost Whisperer-why does she wear so much mascara or fake eyelashes?? her eyes look so heavy with all that on.

luvstitches 01-23-2011 08:55 AM

I watched Medium all the time and was so sad to see the show come to an end. I don't watch much TV but that show I really did enjoy.

not enough drama ... quilters are so sweet

amma 01-23-2011 09:54 AM

I was sad to see it go too :(

Linda1 01-24-2011 05:22 AM

I have watched Medium from the beginning and really enjoyed it. I will miss it but at least they did give it an ending.

Roberta 01-24-2011 07:41 AM

I was shocked that it was the last episode and couldn't figure out the plot line until the end.

It's always the good, wholesome shows that end up getting axed and the raunchy, reality shows that stay. I guess that's what the viewing public wants but I have found that if you send letters to the network, they will sometimes respond and put shows back on the air but it would be hard to continue with a plot line the way how Medium ends.

kwiltamomma 01-24-2011 07:43 AM

I loved Monk wish it was back on!

Shemjo 01-24-2011 08:08 AM

I am sad that Medium is over. At least they gave us a closing. Many of the good clean shows just disappear into the night. I listen to books on tape the nights when there is nothing I care for on TV. I will not pay for cable, so my choices are limited, and raunchy shows and reality shows are not entertaining for me. I can turn the TV off and come here for much more entertainment than most of the current season. I do like NCIS, Mark Harmon is good eye candy.

NOW You're talking!! Miss that one for sure!

Gabrielle's Mimi 01-24-2011 09:29 AM

I liked Medium alot, and it became a bit of a sport with me to try to figure out where different scenes were shot in Phoenix. Some times they changed names (to protect the guilty???)like changing Maricopa to Mariposa. I'll miss this show. I understand the real Alison DuBois lives here, but I suspect much of the show was made up...who could have such visions? I'd be afraid to go to sleep every night!

damaquilts 01-24-2011 09:35 AM

well that shows how much I know. :-) I didn't know it was based on a real person. but I really did like the show and tried to catch it everytime I could. I also like the Ghost Whisperer .

That is so funny!!!! They should do a house make over for deserving quilters....ya know, tear down their old house and build one with a sewing room with all the lights, windows counters, cutting space, storage space, etc. that you could ever want!
I liked The Medium and Ghost Whisperer ( not so much about the re-incarnated Jim) I also like The Mentalist and Castle. I find myself watching The Closer but for some reason I am really liking Burn Notice...go figure. I think it's because of the voice over narration, reminds me of Magnum PI which I loved!!!

munchkinmama 01-24-2011 10:18 AM

I love Alison DuBois. She has written some really good books. Try reading her books for the real Medium.

KarenBarnes 01-24-2011 11:29 AM

We liked Medium as well. It has been on for 7 seasons, so I guess it's time to move on to other things. I did like the way that they finished it though, unlike so many others!

Psychomomquilter 01-24-2011 11:46 AM

Yes I loved the show, just hated to see it go!

Debra Mc 01-24-2011 11:50 AM

Can't believe they killed Joe. Will miss it.

Maralyn 01-24-2011 01:09 PM

I have an entire season stored on the DVR - just hadn't got time to watch this year's episodes, so I am sorry to hear it was ending. While I liked the show, sometimes it was just difficult to watch certain episodes.

I am sad that it is ending.

MadQuilter 01-24-2011 03:18 PM

Oh, I thought it was over years ago.

IBQUILTIN 01-24-2011 03:45 PM

I think they are doing away with the wrong programs. There is way too much violence and mayhem on the television for my taste. I only watch when I must. I do watch a littl on food Network, but not the movies my DH wants to watch

penski 01-24-2011 04:51 PM

it seems like everytime i find a good show to watch they cancell it !!!!

cruser 01-24-2011 05:00 PM

I loved that show! I was so surprised how it ended - I kept waiting for her to wake up and it was just a dream

overdew 01-24-2011 05:38 PM

I will always be a fan of Monk. The Closer is a favorite of mine, also. I think today's tv and movie offerings are for the most part, pitiful. They have to remake old movies like True Grit to find one with a plot nowadays. I did like Secretariat, though.
